Went to the D10 meeting on the 19th and confirmed that grown men wearing lab coats is not good for MN hockey. I did confirm that D10 looked at the CYHA youth hockey becomming co-ed through bantam level but it was shot down in a ball of flames because the girls didn't want it to affect their records and D10 is still looking at the district handbook for loopholes. Good luck Irondale and welcome to our district.

Advanced 15 Seed In Games
Any update on the D1 vs. D2 scrimmage last night? The D2 squad is really a mystery this year and I'm wondering if they will have the depth to make noise at the Festival this year.

D1 vs D2 Seeding Game
It was a pretty close game from what I seen. I do not think D2 will make too much noise in New Hope.

Final from White Bear Lake
District 3
3 (ENG)
District 2

After one it was 1-0 District 3, District 2 started the Hill Murray 9th grade goalie Patrick Munson, and he played very well turning away 18-20 shots I would guess. Gave up one snipe shot to Connor Thie the Hopkins varsity player I believe. Much more even half (they are playing two halves). District 3 started the St. Louis Park goalie Ryan Froom who had 12-14 saves.
Second session District 3 thoroughly outplayed D2 in my opinion. Probably had 75% of offensive zone pressure. D2 did tie the game on a sweet dangle across the front of the net. ( I didn't get the number). New D2 goalie from Mounds View Bantam A played well. D3 had John Danielson in net for second half. He is quick from OMG.
I really like the Jordan Gross kid from OMG on the blue line, Derek Lodermeier from North Metro who is at Totino, Breck forward Thomas Lindstrom who scored a ton on jv this year. Christopher Chute from Blake is a talent as our several other players. The two Sorensen kids from Wayzata are sure scrappy as well.
With about 4 minutes left Taylor Cammaratta (Shattuck 192 points this year in Bantam Tier 1) made a very nice play behind the net and passed it right on the tape to a teammate for game winner.
One ENG for D3.
District 6 looks to be loaded with Fasching and Reno and many other talented players.
Looking forward to tourney at New Hope May 1st and 2nd.
All teams are playing two games on Saturday and one on Sunday.

The second D2 goalie was Dugas, the other Hill freshmen goalie with Munson. Both goalies played great, turning away at least 20 and only allowing one goal each to a D3 team that rolled over D1.
You hit all the other points dead on, Cammarata looked sharp as did Gross and Lindstrom from D3. I also thought that Thie from Hopkins looked strong as well.
First half looked like a balanced hockey game, but the second half was completely dominated by D3. D2 just didn't have the legs to keep up. Without the two D2 goalies playing like they did, this could've ended up like a replay of the D3 v D1 game, even first half but a shooting gallery for D3 in the second.

I haven't seen a roster, but from what I'm hearing - WBL is the most represented with only a sprinkling of players from other teams. I think FL and MV have one skater each, Roseville has two. Stillwater and Tartan have a few each as well also.old goalie85 wrote:Sounds like d3 has a good group. Roster on D2 anyone?

Both sides had some good talent and it was a well played game with good up and down flow...Willie Brown/ River Heights Bantam A, Johnny Witiala/ Lakeville South Bantam A and Jason Samuelson/ Rochester Lourdes HS scored for D8old goalie85 wrote:Sounds like that was fun game! Austin Hill/Prior Lake Bantam A, Tyler Sheehy/Burnsville Bantam A and Bo Brauer/Edina Bantam A scored for D6
...not sure on assists but there were some great plays made on both sides.
I thought goalies on both sides played well...it was only 1-0 D8 after the first half...the second half opened up a little more and I thought only one goal was the goalies fault, but he still played well.
Fun game to watch and too bad it had to end in a tie...maybe they will meet each other next weekend to settle it.
D8 vs D4 Saturday and then D4 vs D6 Sunday. Good Luck to all.

this is not a knock on the player, but a 3 - 3 tie? Did the extremely talented young freshman forward play in this game? The kid is amazing, so is the talent level at this age that good or did he have his way with them?Reg7 wrote:Both sides had some good talent and it was a well played game with good up and down flow...Willie Brown/ River Heights Bantam A, Johnny Witiala/ Lakeville South Bantam A and Jason Samuelson/ Rochester Lourdes HS scored for D8old goalie85 wrote:Sounds like that was fun game! No he didn't have his way with anyone...I think he just had an off game but once again the skill level was pretty good across the board. I'm sure he's not worried about not making it to St. Cloud...he'll be there.
