Take five

Post by metromick »

...and if you use the five years between 2000-'04, you get 4 champs from north/west suburbs in 5 years.

...and if you take '95-'99 you get 3 northern champs in 5 years.

... '84-'88, 5 Lake Conf state champs in a row.

...'72-'76, 4 state champs from sect. 7 in 5 years.

...and the cycle turns.

We will never 'cycle' back to what we were. We really got here by evolution(wait, I mean intelligent design).

The northern teams dominated with their programs and year round outdoor ice. The city schools had numbers and good park programs so they were competitive along with the first ring suburds.

When the second ring suburbs got big and developed programs and with the advent of indoor ice, the norhtern teams lost any advantage they had. The City teams dissapeared because of demographics followed by the first ring suburbs who could not grow anymore.

So, what we have today are the big suburbs and the Catholics along with the 'island' programs like Moorhead and Duluth East.

I dont see that changing any time soon. Sure, every so often a Roseau will come along but it will be an exception, and a welcome one.

So, people can whine about the private schools all they want but for me trading the trophy form Blaine to Centenial , back to Jefferson etc etc gets pretty boring.

Hence, The Crusade.

MM,

one has to understand that the fruits which were planted in the garden always sprout at a later date. the garden has been planted and now it is just beginning to sprout. it is too late....

when the garden is in full bloom is when you will find this out. you see, we are just a poor farmer in the vineyard of an impending dazzling display of dominance.

Crusade Cycle

Post by metromick »

The cycle is the cycle is the cycle.

The garden is always freshly planted, always in fresh bloom, always ready for harvest, and yet, there is never a guarantee that we will reap what we have most recently sewn.

The cycle tells us that if we are happy without, we are never without, for we are always fulfilled.

This is the Crusade, and it belongs to no one...

MM,

your logic is illogical. remember faith and reason compliment each other and leads us to the Truth.

it appears you are almost ready to convert but need much catechesis. i think packerboy can begin to advance you in your beginning training.

So true hubbaa. Non of this has happened by accident.

STA wins 2 OT games and then overcomes a 3rd period 3 goal deficit. Can that be done without Faith? I think not.

CDH is supposed to get there but lose in the first round to AHA. Is it by accident that the AHA takes a bite of the Apple and falls from grace. Oh....I dont think so.

HM loses to Grand Rapids.... does this happen with out Faith? I think we all know the answer to that now dont we.

But I believe that metro belives as he is you and you are me and we are all together.
