i would say roseau sneaked out with that win also winning 1-0, blaine almost shut roseau out haha, same 1 goal differential as edina vs hopkins. and didnt blaine score early but had goal called off?

Blaine did not score at all - the puck wasn't even close to being in on the play you are referring to. But either way, neither team was able to really show what they could do in those conditions, let's be realistic.

I'm fine with Roseau beating Blaine. Roseau is better than Blaine. The only issue I have (if you want to call it an "issue" - it really makes no difference to me), is that the fine folks of Roseau seem to suddenly be hanging their hats on this as a "signature win" or something.

I don't want to take anything away from the Rams because you play who's in front of you, but Blaine isn't the best representative of a metro hockey team there is, so I wouldn't mind seeing the Ram fans reign it in just a bit. There are a lot bigger fish in the metro sea.

i completely agree, with those conditions the game was different, but both teams had to play in it, so their were no advantages/disadvantages , so if it was indoors the score probably would of been higher but probably the same results as the rams winning, blaine isn't one of the 'metro' powerhouses

Nobody in Edina or anywhere is hanging banners based on schedule strength. While I couldn't find Erskine if you spotted me Rand and McNally, I'm certain there is no medal for SOS there either.

You are certifiably delusional if you aren't impressed by the year Edina has had. I know everyone is impressed by Roseau, it just is difficult to compare teams that haven't played - even moreso when Roseau has played so few decent teams. Jefferson and Blaine were in their games with Roseau, so - contrary what you feel - the Rams are not head and shoulders above the state's other top teams.

Rather than whine so much about how running up the total on Crookston and Warroad doesn't get you respect, why can't you just say it would be nice if Roseau and Edina can play so the kids can settle the argument once and forever? Or say that you hope Roseau draws Centennial, Hill-Murray, and either Benilde or Minnetonka in St. Paul so they can answer the question of how they'd face against Top 10 teams three days running?

Whine away, Roseau fans, whine away.

I don't think many fans are hanging their hat on the Blaine game, at least
I'm not. That was more of Hockey Day Event than a game, no two teams could play well in those conditions, -42 wind chill just brutal.

There schedule is a weak one, no doubt about it, but they are a good team and deserve to be in the rankings somewhere. 1,2,5,6,8 it doesn't really matter where they are ranked. I just hope they can make it to the
AA Dance and have a chance to fry some of those BIG METRO FISH :)

I'll start out by saying I know a lot about Edina's players and little about other teams' players (and there's plenty that I know nothing about). So I speak only from what I know.

I'd say that Lee should be ahead of Gaarder (though a top ten spot for Gaarder seems quite reasonable). In fact, I'd find it plausible to see Budish, Lee, and Everson as the top three junior forwards. I wonder why I haven't heard more about Landman if he is the top junior forward--but it is true that talented guys sometimes fly a bit under the radar, so I will not dispute it.
Based on the PS2 Teams strength of schedule here is the top ten Scorers for teams with the top ten strength of schedule........hmmmmm I prefer facts over one mans opinion....

In March it will come down to how much cream will rise to top. I see a lot of cream in Edina. Instead of cakeeaters, perhaps they should be called cowheads.

Who is arguing that running up totals on Crookston or Warroad is not earning respect? For the 100th time, nobody is denying the fact that Roseau's schedule is not as difficult as many other teams. What is being argued, is the people that are saying Roseau is not good, simply because of the schedule.

Whine away? It sounds more like whining to me, when people constantly bring up schedules - as the only true way to measure who is better, etc. They can't argue anything other than this point apparently.

I don't think you'll get too many people from Roseau saying Edina is not good.........they are good, but they are beatable! Who said Roseau is head and shoulders better than any other team in the state? A great record alone does not guarantee success at the state tournament, but neither does a "tough" schedule by itself.

People from Roseau know how good this team is, doesn't matter what people think from the metro area.

HF1:

The people that don't think Roseau is a real good team are crazy. They obviously are.

Where exactly are these people? And who are they?

Are you perhaps confusing someone (like Neut) that says they are more impressed by Edina because they've beaten a lot of real good teams with someone that doesn't think Roseau is good?

nobody from roseau has been running their mouth on roseau being heads above the rest of the states teams. i think roseau people are tierd of (citiots) who think they suck because of schedule. edina has a great team along with many other towns across the state of hockey. someone has to be ranked one (means nothing) all i know and all i can keep saying is roseau is right their with the rest of the top teams and will be every bit as hard to beat as edina. if these two teams meet it will be a dog fight to win the game. on the flip side their are other teams out their if they put it all together get a few good bounces they could beat either of these teams. all this talk about scheduals ect.. is garbage. the fact is nobody knows who will win and thats why they play the games. personally i think the city teams are scared of edina half of them are beat before the game even starts. fyi roseau wont be they will have to play to win that game.

Much like the Pioneers, the Rams became intimidated by the Governors and called off what was a great annual tradition.

By the way - here's a little known fact. Did you know that both Roseau and Johnson have the same school song? It's true.
