Re: PC vs DM
Its playoffs, anything can happen. Samuelson can be a unstoppable goalie. If this happens, he plays out of his mind gets a shutout, PC only needs one goal. And one miss match, say Gross brandt vs third line, one goal. Game over DM goes home. again this is highly unlikely. But it is playoffs. ANYTHIN can happen.
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

Princeton v. SR
I still think the Princeton / Sauk Rapids game could be the best game of this round. Princeton should be the better team, no doubt. However, SR did beat Princeton once this season. IF Ptown plays like they can, then it won't be that close..

The top four SHOULD move on to Cloquet for Saturday.. Tonight we'll find out who hasn't taken their opponents seriously.. Tonights matchups
I agree, shouldnt be many upsets tonight. Princeton vs. Sauk Rapids will be a good game. Im giving the edge to Princeton, its hard to beat the Tigers in there own barn, espically when you know its gonna be packed.
Top 4 seeds should move on, but would be interesting to see some upsets.
Playoff hockey, the best part of the year.

Section 2A Hockey
I agree in that the top four seeds should move on, but all could be close games. I don't see any of these teams losing at home. Marshall has only lost like 3 at home and they were to great teams and shouldn't hav any trouble tonight. Princeton should take care of business but this could be interesting, Sauk has some good players, as does Princeton. Cathedral should beat Central, even though they (Cathedral) have lost three of their 4 losses in St. Cloud (other at Duluth Marsh.). Mora has only lost one game at home (to Cathedral), about 10 weeks ago. Good luck to all teams

I expected M/H-F to win, but not with that score. Do you know what the shots on goal were?

Mora absolutely dominated Denfeld, the score was tied 1-1 after one, Denfeld actually had the 1-0 lead in the first but in the middle of the second mora woke up and the game was over

You shoudl shadow Dahl on Corbett and you will be lookign good. Use your depth and wear them down btu Good Luck to both teams!! RINDELAUB VS BLISS Classic Goalie match up !!

Mora
I think Mora just has to play some good defense and have a great game from Bliss and the rest should fall into place for Mora.

ya
Personally im picking Mora to beat SCC. If SCC plays like they did against central then Mora should have no trouble beating SCC. SCC needs to keep focused and be disciplined in order to beat mora.

Prediction:
Mora - 4,
SCC - 3
OT

Re: Section 2A
That is very true, if SCC gets in the box, they are done. They have to play a very disciplined game and use their depth to an advantage. Ultimatley I think the game is going to come down to the battle between Rindelaub and Bliss. Which ever one of these two is on, their game and doesnt make that little mistake to let one in will win the game. Its going to be a thriller up there and whoever wins cannot be counted out if they face DM in the championship. I think DM is too experienced for the young SR team. Yet, anything can happen and if Lochner is hot in nets, and you get a couple goals out of Peckscamp, watch out. SR vs SCC at the MAC for section 2A final would be down right amazing! We'll see come saturday...

Re: Section 2A
Sorry bout that Mora

In order for Mora to beat SCC they must do three things.

1.) The most important knowing Mora over the years they can be very undisplined at times and take dumb penalties if they do that this game will be over quickly SCC has the best Powerplay unit in the state I have seen this year. SO STAY OUT OF THE BOX!!

2.) They have to play much better in thier own zone this goes for thier 2nd line who at times will just throw the puck with reckless abandon. SCC has much more depth so in order for Mora to win they gotta have a huge games from kids like Raivo, Kirschner and Nordstrom and Callendar on the D side. They need the Young guys to play the game of thier lifes.

3.) Bliss needs to be on to win this game. He is the key to this team I think even Mora people will agree SCC is going to outshoot them in this one. He must control his rebounds and stay clam becuase if SCC gets on the powerplay alot it could be a long night.

My Prediction: I think SCC will win. They will shadow Dahl on Corbett all game. Mora will get frustrated take dumb penlties and SCC will captilize on the powerplay. BUT I do think Mora has a shot if they do the 3 things above stay out of the box have the second line guys step up and hope Bliss is a wall. Then all is takes is like 2 or 3 goals and Mora is more then capable of putting the puck away. So think it can go either way GOOD LUCK TO BOTH!!!

In order for Sauk Rapids to win here is the biggest key.
SHOOT THE PUCK. Come down and aim high when we scouted Gielsser he drops all the time you must shot high on him he is a big kid in the nets controls rebounds well but you can beat him high!! I think if Sauk gets up on DM they could pull it off but I still have to go with DM in this one.

Well thier is my look I dunno I think they should be 2 very fun games thier will be alot of little battles going within in the game. Such matchups as the beast d-man in the Section Bradon Johnson vs the best Forward in the Section Ryan Pecskamp. The other one is Dahl who shut down Peckskamp last year trying to shut down Corbett this year. Should be fun good luck to all 4 teams!!! And rember whoever gets past this round it is just one more step never get ahead of yourself and enjoy hockey boys because as I found out it goes away all to QUICKLY!!

Re: Section 2A
I agree that both games will be good ones... DM and SR, I think that SR has the ability to win, but DM is very tough. I think DM by at least two goals.. they've just done better against top competition all year, where SR has struggled against good teams.. but SR is playing well now..

SCC over Mora, but should be a good game. Mora's been playing well, but they really haven't played anyone of real high caliber this year. The best teams they've played are SCC (top 50) and Princeton (top 75??). I think that the depth that Cathedral posseses will wear the Mora team down. However, if SCC plays like they did against DC, it could be a long game... SCC playes three lines and 5 D regularly, whereas Mora really has one line and 3 D??

DM over SR by 2
SCC over Mora by 3

We'll see tomorrow.
<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

Section 2A Hockey
I agree with all of the above comments but would like to add that Mora has some good speed and I think that will be to their advantage on the larger st. cloud ice surface. I see Marshall winning too, but they will have to keep peckskamp in check.

Re: Section 2A Hockey
Denfeld shadowed Corbett last night and did a decent job except he still have at least two breakaways that didnt go in . I dont think he got a goal at all, but anyways Mora still scored lots of goals. I'll agree that Mora needs to play better defense in their zone.

Finals
So what day and time is the Section Final? I think it is on Tues. Feb 2nd at 7:00 at the MAC in St. Cloud right?

Re: Finals
No it was changed to Thursday 7:30pm at the MAC. Also umm SCC is much deeper and better defensivly then Denfeld will be if Dahl does what he did to Peckskamp last year they will need another hatrick from Grabowski and huge game from the Horbacz brothers because Corbett will be taken away. I still think Mora will have a good shot to win if they stay out of the box and Bliss is strong. But if they got in the box look for SCC to roll.

ice size
the previously made point about the size of the ice would be extremely good ... IF st. cloud had a larger ice surface.
