what is it with this guy? Spuds are dynamite no doubt and they could explode at any minute but I am hoping Bison can throw a wet blanket on them for awhile anyway...

Yes you are correct, they are dynamite and I don't believe that your team can provide a wet enough blanket for the Spuds.

see their a half dozen or so believers out there..rooting for the Bison here is why they can win:

1.) They have played top level teams tough and beating DE should give them confidence that they can play with the best.
2.) They have an extremely hot goalie...minus a couple goals by the Provo kid in the Rogers game Zitur has been tough and has not gotten rattled despite the pressure of the last three games
3.) They have enough offense and have been very opportunistic as late...Dulth outshot Buffalo but buffalo scored when they had a chance and had more scoring opportunties..
4.) First Line Match-up..Trousdale is very physical, smart, crafty player, Wachter is very hard worker with ability to score when given the opportunity...Blaisdell is sniper who has been in the right place at the right time and he expects to score when given a shot.
5.) More physical Defense, Meyer being placed on defense has toughened that group and Carlson is as steady as it gets
6.) Second line intangible, when Buffalo's second line get's points they are very difficult to beat...they have some talented players that have been producing as of late
7.) Spud goaltending can be a little shaky at times and Buffalo does create havoc in front of the net....

Why they would lose:

1.) Zitur does come up big...he will need to make some gigantic saves and frustrate Moorhead a little if we are to stand a chance
2.) MH First Line...they are awesome and while our guys are good I am very afraid they won't be able to skate with MH from a speed perspective...and they make plays so you have to have to have a body on them at all times.
3.) Home crowd and cooking..it iwll be tough for officiating not to give Moorhead the advantage with that crowd they get up there...and if Buffalo is close they will make it difficult for Bison to win...Bison MUST not take one stupid penalty or MH power play could explode...
4.) Better players more depth...Buffalo's three line must come out this game even
5.) Tradition: Moorhead is looking at winning a state tourney not beating Buffalo
6.) No surprise element: after Buffalo's win against DE Spuds will not take Bison lightly...

realistically though spuds win by 4
Moorhead too full of themselves…are you kidding me?? They are one of the most humble teams in the state. They quietly go into an arena do their job and quietly leave with no hype. How can they have any, no one outside of Moorhead believes in them. This team has one of, if not the toughest schedule in the state with only one loss and one tie. They play the top teams with ease but still no recognition. I’d like to see Holy Angles step out of their “tough” section and play some stronger teams. Yeah, they played Shattock; however that’s one game of the few top teams they play and look at the hype they receive. Moorhead is an awesome team and amazing to watch…if you haven’t seen them yet hopefully you will at the X! ENJOY.

Spuds won earlier their first game against Buffalo 8-1 at home. I'm rootin' for the Bison, but doesn't look like it's going to happen.

People keep bringing up the win against Duluth East. Also remember that not that long ago Buffalo tied Monticello, who went down 10-1 last night. Which team is the real Buffalo Bison, the ones the played East or the ones that played Monticello? :-k I'll take Moorhead by a half dozen!

Personally I would say that Duluth East isn't the caliber of team Moorhead is this year. Yes Buffalo will probably compete and stay in better than they have in the past with Moorhead, but they probably won't win. Monticello isn't a bad team either, but they lost to a much better team. That's all.

E70 are you still not allowed in Reid's? Maybe if members of the Alliance went with you, there'd be strength in numbers.

Spuds win

Post by hockeydad46 »

Spud will prevail, but not as much as last game with bison
6-4 Spuds

It will be another Rams vs Spuds showdown at the Mini Ralph on 3/1/07.
Rams will win.Itr is hard for a team to beat the same team 3x.
Go Rams
