Actually, they don't have to since there are nine teams in 8AA this season. But if they do (and I think they will), how much sense would moving Brainerd make?RamFan2010! wrote:THis might be a stupid question... but do they have to replace Bemidji??spudsdominate wrote:I wonder who they will put into the section in the place of Bemidji??

clearly after the game in roseau the other night bemidji is in a struggling situation, I don't like seeing them move to class a though, with the new rinks coming up in bemidji hopefully the can get more ice time for the boys that is one of the advantages that roseau has on everyone the ice time. three rinks open skating at any time and every team practices everday just go to there rink and look at the schedule, I always wondar why the have a good squad, till I looked at there schedule one time. to bad for the lumberjacks I think with some orginization in there hockey program and with more ice time they also could compete at the aa level.

How good is Brainerd?? Are they worth putting into a section that already has alot of good teams and two that have played each other for the championship for quite a few years??? just wondering...east hockey wrote:Actually, they don't have to since there are nine teams in 8AA this season. 2nd string
Can you not read?
Bemidji beat Roseau in bantams. Bemidji beat Roseau in peewees.
Roseau has some exceptional talent on their varsity team and has beat everyone they have played except Moorhead. Three games with Roseau, 3 -2, 6-0, and 6-0.
Roseau's youth program bantams/peewees about 40 kids, Bemidji about 40 kids.
Mitch and Lee - don't you think an IQ test would be appropriate before membership is granted to this board.

ok... I dont understand what your trying to say, just cause Bemidji's team might be good in a few years doesnt answer his question, if they have 4 rinks and get ice time, practice makes perfect right.... having good youth teams doesn't make up for a loss in the varsity program.elliott70 wrote:2nd string

oooh! that hurts I can read by the way, for the last years where has bemidji been in the section 8aa playoffs thats what I am talking about smart guy! going 2-2 with roseau is not exaclty dominating. I have been to alot of those bantam games by the way the bemidji bantam fans are terrible. Apparently all the refs in the north are out to get them.

I assume you are from Roseau, so you should know this, but perhaps you are from Salol(
) so I will give you a break.
Roseau beats
Blaine 5 to 2 (odds on favorite to be at state)
Hibbing (in section finals - good chance at going to state)
Rosemount 6 -3
Monticello - one of top 3 in Mississippi 8 conference...
do you need more....
Roseau is very, very good.
Or perhaps Blaine sucks......
Moorhead beat Roseau twice this year....
everyone else has lost to them....
how many teams can say they lost by 1 goal to the Rams....
Warroad... no
Thief River Falls, who tied Moorhead... no ....
get your head(s) out of ....

If that was what you were saying, why didn't you?
Read some more in this thread and the other one.
And then do some history on Roseau for the last 10-15 years...
some good teams...
some very good teams....
and some average teams....
And just in case you are still in bantams....
check out where Roseau started in the AA/A split and ask someone in Warroad why Roseau decided to play AA...
There is more to reading than being able to pronounce the words.

I understand that roseau has a good program this year. What I am trying to ask you is why has bemidji struggled in the last years, playing a one goal game good for you, everone has a good nigh now and then, and if I remember right your goalie stood on his head that evening, stopping something like 48 shots. I would think from an outsider looking in, with the numbers and 4 indoor rinks that your system should be in the top of the section. I don't need to get into a word war with you, just trying to understand the situation a little better, Why this gets you so upset is beyond me.
And bantam boys, I know school is two hours late tomorrow, but bed time is here.
And I know your coach, I know your JV coach, and you HS coach.
Probably know your parents, I'm probably related to you....
I don't think any of them would want you on here bad mouthing another program, especially one that you have to face next weekend.
Its not that hard to print this stuff out.

Its very simple, ice time alone does not make a team/players.
Bemidji is average.
Roseau is very, very good.
And I am angry at people (not so much you) begrudging the Bemidji players the right to choose where they play. Single A, which is what they are, or elect to play AA, which they have done for the last four years.
More history - in 2000 Bemidji bantam A team won the VFW and were okay at the MAHA state tourney. In 2001 the BHS varsity lost in the section finals. Several, like 7 or 8, of those kids left to play juniors. That included an NHL drafted and current Hobey candidate D1 goalie. Of course, they struggeled after that.
After that, the talent level was down and they had some very bad years.
Last year with alot of young players, they played better. This year was a little better... but still average.
And Ram fan...
practice does not make perfect...
nor, as some claim, does perfect practice...
perfection is an unobtainable goal...
just keep that in mind for when you have kids... or coach.

~Haha very funny with the whole Salol thing.... actually im just across the street from Memorial arena.... less then a block.... what I was saying is why would you bring up how good your younger team is when he said if there are 4 rinks then there is something wrong, how could roseau beat you like that ( something to that affect ) so you say our bantams beat Roseau and our Peewees beat Roseau, I was just wondering how that all played into his question, and by the way I obvioulsy know Roseau has a good team, and it has been average or better for quite sometime.~elliott70 wrote:Ram - Fan

A HS program only needs one rink...
Multiple rinks make it easier to schedule multi-team programs (youth, HS, grils, figure skating etc..)
Having four rinks or one should not matter to the HS current season. Only to the program as a whole and as they go forward.
I grew up in a town with zero indoor rinks but yet they were the state champs almsot every year over a period of a decade.
And Ramfan.. good luck in Virgina.
PS
A friend of mine is a dentist in Salol.
