Nate S and Ryan Walters are the best freshman no questions but the are some ones close to them: jordan johnson (hill) Breck kids (Borer cousins are the best of them) Mattson (Chaska)

RBKRules- Eastview was his first varsity start, and not to mention O'Shea let in 6 in that same game against a team that practically never scored! Both chaska games all 3 goalies rotated a period, he let in 3 not 9, in the first game, and 2 not 5 in the second chaska game. he also had a shut-out against A.V. and shut down politz on THREE breakaways in the 3rd period.
So you had...
Eastview-7 goals
Greenway-1 goal
Chaska-9 goals
Century-4 goals
A.V.-1 goal
Chaska-5 goals
J.M.-1 goal

When really it was..
Eastview-7 goals
Greenway-1 goal
Chaska- 3 goals
Century- 4 goals
A.V.- Shutout
Chaska- 2 goals
J.M.- 1 goal (on 36 shots)

That's a whopping 10 goals off! And O'Shea looked and played like a Bantam all year long. Never controlled the game, and he had much better defense in front of him and faced way fewer shots.

ahh if we are talking stats...lets mention against Chaska...3 goals in like 3 minutes at which time he was pulled and then sobbed on the bench

Also late in the year 6 goals vs Burnsville JV pulled in the second period

He was solid against AV..although Lentz(AV) outplayed him...and politz never shot on one break and missed on another.

PLayed OK against JM and Century...

Don't get me wrong he is solid...but I watched him in the ad.16 and he was average...many others his same age were much better...

time will tell...playing for North he'll see more than his share of rubber

he's a 22 year old freshman. Others will catch up. There are 2 halves to the ice...he needs a GPS to find one end.

Always some one who has to be jealous. By the way he is 15, I do believe that is the age of most kids going into the 10th grade. Everyone has something to work on. At least it isn't size or scoring for Walters or Scmidt
Good Luck to you and keep ripping kids I am sure it will eventually pay for you or maybe you will just catch up to every one.

No question? NTDP thought Mattson was better than Schmidt. Walters tried out and didn't make it. Arguably, one could suggest Mattson was the best freshman.

Stauber...DeBus...Hauser...Briggs...Arentz...?
I agree. I played with Matt all spring for showcase case, and he is a phenomonal goalie. he is very flexible and agile. he knows how to play the position and he is good at it. i think he has a bright future in hockey if he keeps up the good work.

Devils advocate here, but Schmitt had, from what I heard, a pretty bad wrist injury late in the season that couldn't have been 100 percent by the time the went and tried out for the NTDP.
