All give it to him, hes a good player but no doubt not the best. From what i have seen he can play cheap. Throwing that hibbing kid into the bench was a disgrace.
Here are few northern kid names that i myself have seen play and would take over him on my team.
Drew LeBlanc (H-town)
Jake Youso (I'Falls)
Aaron Marvin (Warroad)
Pat White (G-Rapids)
Anthony DeCenzo (Hibbing)

True but note that the players i listed are FORWARDS and nico is a forward......just for the sake of things though defense that are good up around the area........
Joe Stejskal(Grand Rapids)
Chad Huttel(H-town)
Greg Sutherland(Hibbing)
Scott Kishel(V-MIB)
Another thing that i do agree with......nico's attitude that i've seen him carry onto the bree cuppoletti in virginia at times, won't carry him far with Don Lucia and the prestigious program of the Minnesota Golden Gophers
Joe Stejskal(Grand Rapids)
Chad Huttel(H-town)

Scott Kishel(V-MIB)

Your post should read North "eastern" Minnesota.....then it would make more sense.Ramesses wrote:5 Best Forward Players in Northern Minnesota

Stejskal is the best defensive defenseman in northern MN, but the top two in NORTHERN MN should be Stejskal and Ness.Ramesses wrote:5 Best Forward Players in Northern Minnesota

Saw Nico and Descenzo on the same weekend down in Rochester. There is no question Nico is the better of the two. He has all of the tools. The most impressive tool of all is his vision. No high schooler can touch him in this category in the state(in any grade). I don't care who you are, but a high school player with pro-level vision, is in my book, extremely rare. He has the ability to slow down, or speed up a game to fit his tempo and needs at will. Anticipation, being in the right places at the right times, keeping his cool when opponents hack at him, using the people around him, etc. are more of his attributes. If it is true that he is a 4.0 GPA, then all the better for the gophers....we won't have to worry about eligability issues. As far as the attitude with others at practice that some talk about on here. Sounds to me like there may be some jealousy in the Virginia community. I feel sorry for you. You have somebody coming through your high school that you will no doubt be cheering for when he is wearing maroon and gold. He is and will be an inspiration for the mites, squirts, peewees, and bantams in the Virginia Youth hockey program . Those kids are saying as they shoot pucks, "look at me...I'm Nico Sacchetti!" The way you used to with your heroes growing up. Maybe one of those little kids will be the next one we are discussing on here because Nico inspired them. Hands down....the best HS hockey player in the state.
Earlier in the post, someone asked what about Jordy? I assume they were talking about Christian from Moorhead. I saw him play a few games this year and he appears to be the real deal.
Most impressive however was the game I saw him play last fall for the Sioux Falls Stampede. The level of play is far superior to High School hockey and Christian, in his first game, went from the third line to the first. Yes, in 45 minutes he showed that much potential to the coach.
Next year, we will see just how good he is.
Hockey, where the players walk on water!!!

Insightful post but i dont know if you have ever seen HIS attitude at times during games. Sure he scores goals but he does stupid things. I stated it before......If he keeps some of that attitude when he goes off for college....it wont fly with Don Lucia and the prestigious program of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers.Rippentrop wrote:Saw Nico and Descenzo on the same weekend down in Rochester. I think Hansen's offensive skills are better than Dorrs, and Dorr is a better all around player(defensively and physical play). Where is the flip flop? Do I need to draw pictures? Where else do I flip flop?Rinkman wrote:SEC Scotty wrote March 25:SEC Scotty wrote:Jake Hansen was the best offensive threat in the metro. White, Matson, and Larson better two way players.

SEC Scotty you flip flop around so much, your opinions rarely match from post to post. Are you ok?

yea i have also heard from a bunch of his teamates that he is not a very good team player
I would say a guy who averages two assists per game is a decent team player in my book.
He is the real deal and I am sure Patrick White, Dorr, and the rest of the Gophers will welcome him with open arms - they could care less who we think is the best in MN. All I know is that those three certainly will be the best FOR MINNESOTA!!! GO GOPHERS!
