I bet Cory Kautz will see varsity time, other than him they only have 2 other players and a goalie who are second years on this years A team if I am counting rightSouthrenHockey44 wrote:As for Century, their JV team went 20-4? and went 500 in non confrence games. How hard will it be for them to reload after this seasons loss of seinors and knutson going to USHL or NAHL? Who were the standouts on JV that will impact the Varisty, and who from the Bantam "A" team will see some playing time?
Who will 1AA next year 07-08

Im not seein century being to good next year. Ya they made it to state with the goalie they have, but when you average prolly about 20 or less shots a game thats not to hard. So this year will be a test for Ewing with not having a very good team infront of him. And I have seen there JV play and they are nothing great.

The scout - you are right about Ewing...he will have his work cut out for him now. Less offense to make up for the soft goals and he lost his top three defensemen. It could be a tough year when he is getting 8-12 more shots per game.
If anyone learned anything this past year it is shoot from anywhere and crash the net because the rebounds will be there. You can handcuff him with almost any shot and once he goes down he is in trouble - often in awkward positions.
With that said, he could improve greatly. He has gained a ton of experience the past two seasons which could help him a ton. Century will still have a shot at winning the section, but they are no longer the clear cut favorite that is for sure.
Only nine teams now...anyone want to rank them? I will give it a stab.
1) Lakeville South (if their goalie stays) 2) Mayo 3) Century 4) Lakeville North 5) Owatonna 6) Farmington 7) Dodge County
JM 9) Winona
That is how I see it right now.....but that is like trying to predict the weather for April 11th on March 26th when it is 80 degrees and sunny!
jv players wont usually reload your team.........
True, very, But after watching Century’s JV for quite a few games, and their varsity, I think that #15 and #22 for JV should have played over #6 and #27 and #20 on Varsity, they put up numbers, even though just JV, and when they did skate on Varsity they held their own easily and actually got good scoring chances, just my thoughts. Both of them will be dark horses on the team next year and in the Big 9. So I think those two players will help fill the loss of 13 or however many seniors, and will contribute very nicely.

Bub, I would have to say that Yaggy and Steinmetz will probably split time, but it will depend on if they both work hard during the off season. That will be a very big story next year down in Rochester. But Mayo definately has a strong chance with both of there goaltenders being strong and having a young team this last year will make there team experienced.
Last year there was Century and everyone else was a mess, the difference between teams 2 (JM) through 8 (DC) was minimal at best and i don't think any team in that group was significantly better than anyone else. I think next year you'll be able to say that about teams 1 through 8, though JM could be down in the Winona category.
