8A Predictions........
Moderators: Mitch Hawker, east hockey, karl(east)
warrior 4,i hope you are not going to college to earn an accounting degree or as a math major, because you seem to have trouble with numbers.this season trf will have 2 seniors,9 jr's,and 10 sops.i'll do this slow so even you can understand, add the 2, to 9 and you have 11,follow? now,add the 11 to 10,i'll wait while you get your calculator....21 good boy !trf has 21 players trying out for varsity..21.roseau and warroad each have between 40-46.trf has a population of 10,000 people which is more than Roseau and warroad combined,so where are these , "huge strides" that you are talking about?
is the only coach in the history of trf hockey who has had the benefit of being single, "a" opposed to his predecessors who were in double "a", and he has still lost more games than any other coach in prowler history.s.d.#564 has not yet signed his ,"assistant" coach contract,if you are so enamored by his marketable talent why dont you hire him? trf would gladly take Bruce or Albert off your hands and
can make "great strides" for the warroad program like he has done in trf.oh, for someone who uses the term."idiot" as much as you do..at least learn how to spell it, it's I-D-I-O-T not idot. good luck at school....is clown school a 2 year or 4 year course?

Enough already
Ok,
Enough about poor old TRF woes.
Back to the topic at hand.
Let's face it.
EGF is going to win it this year with balance and strong goaltending.
If Chupka can control the mob mentality and keep his team in check, no pun intended, ala the semis against the mighty prowlers last Feb. they should take the Section this year.
But, good luck to all in Section 8.

Warroad will go to state. Cause as Bantams they never lost to a class "A" team will a youth hockey team. Warroad has Hahn,Ravendahlen,Dane Shaugabay,Piper,Milbrige,Stoskpf,larson...a couple really good sophs in Hebel and Nelson...PLus they have players that can fillup the other roles on the team.
I dont see goalie being a weak spot this year even tho there is no bigname goaltender. If they give it their all Warroad should easily go undefeated in Section 8A.
Oh yeah elliott70 or D16Dad did Max's leg heal okay?

Pirates will be the same as ever. Just to the point of being competitive. Nothing on this year's team will put them over that threshold they have had for years.
1. Warroad - no need to explain really
2. Bemidji - good luck, have fun, but this isn't where you belong
3. PR - should have a good year.
4. EGF - Always in contention
5. TRF - Shiny new head coach isn't enough, but always in the game.
The rest of the ranks are anyone's to be fair.

1. Warroad
2. Greenwave
3. Theif River Falls
4. Bemidji
5. Park Rapids
6. Crox
7. Baudette
and so on....?
warroad- looked like a verry strong, agressive team over the summer and there ability to keep "reloading" as someone put it, give's them a strong running EGF- outstanding goalie and allot of returing player's so ther expirenced TRF- new coach should bring this team to a new level, not much for expirence but should do o.k. ,slow start but should come around midway through Bemidji-new young inexpirenced coach, didnt look all that great over the summer from what i saw, and i hear pretty cheap to Park Rapids- and its been said before 1 amazing kid doesnt make a team, not saying that there a bad team just i dont think there all that good.

Bad News.
1)After nine seasons, the Coach resigned
2)Last year's team only scored 64 goals
3)Last year's team won nine games
4)Last year's team was a first round exit.
Really bad news:
1)The Pirates graduated 43 goals
2)The Pirates graduated a goalie who played 17 games
3)The Pirates have an awfully big hole to fill on the blueline
Good News.
1)The new(old) coach knows Crookston, the administration, the players, the people, the positives, the negatives, the X's, the O's, the history and what it will take better than anyone.
2)The goaltender who was on the ice when the season ended is back.
3)The Pirates are in this position going into the season every year.
4)They will be the hunter, not the hunted this season....again.
Great News
A new facility, a new sense of urgency, and an attitude is on the horizon.
I'd love to click in and give them a vote but reality must trump my loyalities in this case.....for now.

1. Warroad - too much returning, if they have a goalie really step up they make a run at the big prize.
2. EGF - solid core, goaltending.
3. PR - A great forward and A good d...not enough TEAM.
4. Bemidji - good players, not enough great players.
5. TRF - a shiny new coach that will spoil someones play-offs.
6. Crox - Shanty's always got them pegged.
And the rest are all guaranteed first round outs. Sorry.

Shanty summary
Nice summary Shanty.
I do expect to see the ship now and then during the season.
Especially when they play EGF who's number they always seem to have!!

Repeat of last year final Warroad Vs. Park Rapids. Warroad will of course be the front runner in this section but I don't think Park Rapids is getting the respect they deserve. They will be solid with Lehrke, Tolle, and Kohlrusch. They wont have as much depth of course as warroad but will give them a run for their money in the final bu come up short. Warroad once again come sout of this section.

PR for the most part has been a solid three pick in this thread. I would say that's getting respect. Especially with Warroad's and EGF's track records throughout the years as the kingpins. TRF made a breakthrough the season they should have but since the split...the only multiple time winners are Warroad and EGF. With Warroad's abundance and EGF's goaltending and their proven track records you have to give them the 1 & 2 nods. However, EGF or Warroad shouldn't be too comfortable with the likes of the Panthers lurking ready to make the pounce. EGF found that out last season I think they'll be ready this year and won't be looking past the Black and Orange of PR like they may have. Respect....I think they're getting plenty.NewFoundDangle99 wrote:Repeat of last year final Warroad Vs. Park Rapids.
