ref-
The intent of my post was not to be critical to you or any other officials. After you called me out on it and I re-read what I wrote, I can see how you got that impression. The examples I used were only intended to be examples to make a point, not criticisms of any refs in particular.
I do see your point. My sincerest apologies to you and all other officials who are out there working hard to make our game great. You have a tough job that gets little credit. I make an effort to thank officials in person every chance I get.
To clarify the point I was trying to make is that Fair Play Points are obsolete as long as the rules of the game are enforced consistantly.
I am asking that the MN Hockey "rulemakers" get involved in closing the loop that they started to insure SOP are applied consistantly the way they intended.
Just like any other job- people that care about doing a job well want to know how they are doing and where they can improve. How do they know how they are doing? Almost all of the feedback they get comes from emotionals fans and coaches, or people "ranting, raving, and whining" on internet forums. Where do they get unbiased constructive feedback?
BTW ref I have officiated hockey and other sports and have family members that officiate hockey also. I make these observations with this and a 20 year coaching perspective.
Thank you to all hockey officals and sorry to those offended.

Good apology, I accept.
