I,m ready to go now. This is going to be a great game. Having Youso and Johnson on the ice together should be fun to see. I love speed. Well see you all there. Gosh Denfeld 6 to 5 in a slight upset.

I also believe this game will turn into a offensive display of speed and passing. I think your going to see lots of great up and down the rink with plenty of scoring chances for both teams. Seriously I believe this really is going to be a really great game. I may be wrong but I believe were going to the offensive battle of the year tonight. Throw defense out for tonight as these teams match up well and Johnson and Youso can both flat out fly and fly they will!
WOW that is great defense 1 or 2 goals in 17 games thats a pretty good little fun fact to know!
Another interesting thing to look at is that only 5 players on the falls have not netted a goal, and 2 of them are the goalies. Shows they are spreading the puck around.

Final Score

I. Falls - 4
Denfeld - 2

Falls outplayed Denfeld most of the game. The Hunters picked it up at the end but Youso sealed it up with an empty netter.

I will say that tonight I was somewhat dissappointed to be a referee. It was a little disheartening to see what Denfeld was able to get away with, especially around Youso. Seemed once it looked like the game was out of reach for Denfeld, they decided to call some penalties on them.

Falls goalie played excellent in my opinion. Gave out a couple rebounds, but overall played a very good game. Youso definately looked like he's got some wheels and can handle the puck. The older Corrin did not impress me. He does skate well and he is big, but didn't seem to handle the puck too well.

Several of the Falls second and third line players looked good as well, not remembering all the names at the moment.

Johnson looked great for Denfeld as well.

How did Stafne look tonight for Duluth Denfeld? I have heard that he tends to disappear in big games for the Hunters. Was that the case tonight?

If Stafne is #7 he was noticable.......as a bit of a cheapshot tonight. His main goal looked like it was to shut down Youso, but he wasn't exactly legal in doing so.

In what way, shape or form did I Falls outplay Denfeld? You have got to be kidding me. With 6:30 left in the second period Denfeld had been out shooting Falls 10-1 for the period. Falls was the better team in the first but other than that there is NO way they outplayed Denfeld. In fact, I wish someone kept a TOP stat just to prove how off that statement is. Denfeld was outshooting Falls most the game until the very end of the game. It was incredibly evenly matched. Falls had great defense and that was the difference maker. Youso is a great hockey player but the Falls first line is nothing without him and certainly wasn't anymore impressive than Denfeld's first line. I would love to see a rematch of this game at the X, but I'm sure that's asking too much.

Wow, your comment is so biased for I Falls all I can do is laugh.

its going to be kinda hard to see both teams play at the X because they have to knock one or the other team out in section finals?

it sure is going to be interesting to see these two teams play in sections, i for sure am going to watch.

i also have a week of free breakfasts riding on the falls loosing.

but may the better team win eh?

Your breakfast is safe - they won't play in sections. Denfeld = 5A, I Falls = 7A.

I,d like to offer my views of what I saw being unbiased, having been there and just loving seeing great games in the area. I falls owned the first 10 mins of the 1st as Denfeld just struggled to hang on. Denfeld played well in the latter half of the 1st but I give period 1 to the falls. The second period everything changed Denfeld took it to the Falls hard and the Falls made it thru in fact getting the only 2 goals in the latter half of the period. Although the Falls owns a 3-1 lead after 2 periods I,m just going wow Denfeld should be up 1 or at least tied. I give period 2 to Denfeld despite the scoring and the shots reflected it. The 3rd period was a hard fought period and I thought was dead even. Youso nets the empty netter late and this one gos in the books as a 4-2 Falls win. Being unbiased totally and just at the game to see great players and great skating (as I will again today East-Edina this afternoon Denfeld-Warroad this evening) all I can say is Falls deserved this win but Denfeld played them tooth n nail reflected once again in the final shots and scoring chances I believe were fairly even in what I saw. The truth is the Falls got out of Mars Lakeview with a win but not easily. Both these teams have a shot at State!

I also want to compliment both teams on the quality of hockey I saw last evening. Both the Falls and Denfeld have strong teams. There are so many great teams in the area this year. I,m simply loving watching hockey. Youso was outstanding. Jake Johnson looked fantastic. Many many more fine players for both teams. (Kudos)

I think Ladd Corrin still had a good game for the falls. Even though he didn't score he also didn't get scored on. He had a real physical presence in the game and was one of the bigger hitters on the ice. Another thing that he did was pump up his team when he tore the Denfeld kid's helmet off. I think after he did that it really set Denfeld off and they started to get more and more penalties. So even though he didn't score he still did other things in the game to help out his team to pull out the W!
