Is this Neutron at the PR/TR game last week?

Notice the big Y painted on his chest. I believe that stands for YES: It Can Happen

They beat TRF, which implies they are better and with a score of 4 - 0, a scoreboard reader may believe that they are quite a bit better. But those that observed first hand saw they were well matched and with a couple of early bounces the other way, the momentum and game could have gone another way. The game was in, also. They scrimmaged Bemidji and that was even also. All 3 teams have varying strengths and weaknesses, thus depending on who is ill or injured it could vary a bit.

So, PR, TRF or Bemdiji could end up in the semi's with EGF or Warroad; depending on how the seeding goes.

Now, Angus, if you need more; I will get my granddaughter's crayons out.

This even sounds like the knowledge of an elder, senile man... :D

The Bemidji scrimmage was when...4 months ago?

That said, I think this matchup would be close, but PR would have 2 get nice contributions from players not named Lehrke and Smith would have to be spectacular...

Schwanger, has that Lake Michigan mist got to your brain.

They just scrimmaged about 12 days ago at Nymore....
For a PR fan (even long range) you are not keeping up on things very well........

frederick61 wrote:One question I would ask is who gets the #1 seed in Section 8A. I see nobody except Mora having a shot at beating Park Rapids based on the rest of their schedule. If Park Rapids ends the season unbeaten they will hold wins over every team in Section 8A except Warroad and Bemidji who they didn’t play. Warroad has six loses and has played a tougher schedule, but will that be enough to claim a #1 seed? Bemidji has also played a tougher schedule and has 12 loses including to EGF. Does that qualify them for a higher seed then Park Rapids?

By my count there are 11 Section 8A teams, that means three playin games to a quarter final. With a #1 Park Rapids seed, they will draw a bye and play a weak team they have beaten in the quarterfinal. In the semi’s they will draw a four or five seed which could be TRF or Kittson Central. Their one tough game could be the final, a Warroad or Bemidji or EGF.

They have a tough bunch of skaters and are currently missing two players off their top lines. Even without those kids, they skated a good TRF team into the ground in the second period. Park Rapids is good and are not a one man team.
#1 seed will go to Warroad.

LOW, Hallock, TRF, RLF, EGF, Crookston, Bemidji will vote them #1.
PR will vote for Warroad.
Walker will vote PR #1.
Bagley, I am not sure. but believe they will vote Warroad #1.

EGF will probably get #1 vote from Warroad
#2 votes from LOW, Crookston, TRF, Bemidji, Hallock and PR.
#3 votes from RLF and Walker
This will put EGF #2

PR will get #1 from Walker and maybe Bagley.
PR will get #2 vote from RLF & EGF.
#3 votes from Crookston, Hallock, maybe LOW, maybe TRF, Bemidji.
This will put PR #3.

Bemidji and TRF will scramble for #4 & #5, alot depending on their last few games.
(Same can be said for above voting, Warraod ahs least to lose with these games, PR the most.)

So seeding will go
Warroad
EGF
PR
TRF or Bemidji.

Assuming no surprises...
Warroad - TRF (TRF at home will be tough, but will lose if they are #5 seed and play Bemidji in Bemidji).
EGF - PR (this will be exciting - packed house lots of bandwagon PR people from around the countryside).

Warroad and physically & emotionally worn team in the Finals.
But they say what does not kill you makes you stronger.

The Ralph will Rock.

Just this senile old man's opinion.

Just curious Elliot, If PR doesn't lose any more section games how could they not receive the #2 seed. In head to head they beat EGF and TRF, TRF also beat EGF so wouldn't TRF vote them #2 ???? or am i missing something?

I cant agree with the mullet any more...and not only that but i think if TRF beats egf later in the yr...and then beats bemidji...and doesnt slip up in any games they should win...they will be three

To state the obvious...
the games remaining have an impact on how the ceding will go.

So what I am looking at right now is how (IMO) the coaches perceive the teams in the section and thus, how they will vote.
Warraod, EGF, PR (2 & 3 will be close), right now I think (IMO) EGF would get the vote. TRF & Bemidji (close, but based on Bemidji's win they may have #4, but either way they are 4 & 5 right now).

What you are missing is you are assuming coaches will vote based on head to head etc....
That is not necessarily so... Coaches can and do look at tht entire season, common opponents, big wins (or losses), look at the recnet games versu earlier games, base it on how others played their team.

So PR did not play Warroad, PR played EGF earlier and in a game most everyone knows was tainted (just as PR played Bagley - would you have everyone grade PR by that game - no). PR had a big win against TRF. PR beat everyone they should have beat and beat teams no one inthe section really cares about. So look at the bottom half of the section and the games PR played with them. Look at how EGF played with them.
Take all bias out of your head (heart) and what do you see...
No clear-cut vision of PR as the #2 team (forget #1, that will not happen unless the ship sinks).

I am not arguing against PR...
I am just trying to be realistic on how things may go...
and if PR loses a game... it will be more detrimetnal than others losing a game... losing to Roseau, Denfeld by Warroad are not the same as PR losing to Crookston or Mora.

It is my opinion, but I have been trying to figure these thing out for about 40 years and I know you cannot simply state we beat them so we will be here...
you beat TRF but then lose to Crookston it makes things more complicated then that....

That's what I thought Neut, I completely understand why you would paint yourself orange, but as far as painting a V on your chest, that would have made no sense.
