For those of you who live and die by the Ps2 rankings could you do one thing. Bring them to the Big Rink in March so we can see who you are. You'll be the ones holding the Ps2 in one hand while scratching your head with the other. Maybe you could delete Roseau off the rankings list totally......they've never measured up. I'm sure Roseau's was the worst Ps2 of the eight last year. Rankings are something to argue about but don't win tournaments. Good programs do.

Actually, Duluth is less than two hours away from the Twin Cities. A quick rip down 35.

Still a long trip to make for 1/2 of your games compared to suburban teams that often travel less than 30 minutes. My point is that it's not feasable for every northern team(Roseau, etc.) to play a team from the Cities for every non - conf game.

Another over-rated AA team in my opinion: Blaine - NW suburban conference, and have lost to most tough teams they have played - I might be eating my words after the Baudette Bay Classic though!

Losing to Andover probably didn't help their program

Amos, rant after rant of nonsense. There isn't one person that has ever said a computer ranking means more in Minnesota HS hockey than the actual games. At this stage of the season, with Roseau and Edina having only played one common opponent, there isn't much to do to compare them.

You rail against PS2. Have anything better?

Roseau is good. Edina is good. Good programs win tournaments? No schnit, Sherlock. That's why Holy Angels, Centennial, Jefferson, Duluth East, and Roseau have all won state recently. Hint: look at the PS2 rank and you'll see all the top teams are good programs.

What are you going to say if Roseau doesn't repeat as champion? You act as though it is a lock. Tell us right now what you'll say if they lose to Moorhead, Hill-Murray, Edina, Minnetonka, Benilde, or someone else and don't repeat.

You're so lost you'll be the one scratching your head.
Be kind. Rewind.

Any northern team.

What's all the complaining about H-M and getting to eat Mom's cooking before games at the State Tournament? Have you seen H-M moms and tried their cooking? Pioneers marry the best-looking women in Minnesota foremost for their great beauty, so unlike up Nord, we have to order take-out instead.

Sorry for blowing up. Look through the threads......no where have I said that the Rams would be the Section 8 AA representative. I only said that I would be there. That's the exciting part of the playoffs.....the Rams could be watching from the stands the same way the Spuds were last year. But we're not going to use the excuse that someone wore them out first. And if they make it and lose in the early brackets........we've been there before too. We're usually over it by the time we hit St. Cloud Sunday morning.

On the contrary...losing to Andover (largley due to Andovers goalie making 41 saves)...has to really piss the Blaine players and coaches off after beating Centennial and Anoka...so I think they'll be extremely hungry and motivated when they play Rosaau on Baudette Bay...one thing Blaine has is depth at forward, enough to match-up with Roseau IMO...if they get strong goaltending (probably from the sophomore who beat Anoka)...with the outddoor elements and all...they have a chance at pulling off an upset.

I don't put too much trust in the rankings when it comes to the northern teams just because the quality of good teams are spread much further apart than in the cities. That being said whoever makes out of those 7 and 8 sections had better be taken seriously. I've watched a very underrated Rapids team go down and play the "best" team from the cities each year and win(HM 06), (Edina 07). The truth is that alot of people never have seen some of these Northern teams play until they get to the show.

I was being sarcastic, dummy. Roseau has not played anyone tough all year.

This makes more sense. Talking about how computer rankings aren't the be all and end all or telling people they need to warn the teams from the Twin Cities about Roseau seemed over the top. Roseau is good.

For those like Neut that think they don't deserve to be #1: one of two things will happen. Either Roseau wins state and you'll say they've done enough or they'll lose a game and you'll be validated. We only have to wait a month to find out which path it takes.

Wrong. While I understand what you're saying, getting the correct information is still important when arguing a particular point.

By the way, Roseau had the 2nd highest rated PS2 of the eight AA teams heading into the tournament.

How much longer does it take them to make the trip to Rochester?
