Warriors Way Inc. has reached the minimum goal of raising $220,000 to preserve the full Brainerd High School sports program for the next school year. The funds will help offset participation fees for students and their families who can’t afford them as a result of the $860,000 budget cut in activities and athletics which followed a school referendum defeat.

Still unsuccessful, however, is the fund raising effort at nearby Crosby-Ironton which will cut all sports unless $250,000 can be raised. To date. the C-I Save Our Sports Committee has raised only $40,000 plus a $25,000 challenge grant that must be matched to be received. The committee hopes the Rangers run to the state basketball tournament final will bring about a surge in contributions.

Not sure of the details but on the girls hockey schedules for the Central Lakes Conference they are now listed as Brainerd-Little Falls.
