If Mueller plays like he can, Dettling lights it up like he can, and the D stays out of the box, WB will be reliving the Aldrich game. And, yes, that's a lot of ifs...

But, anything can happen! :D
Certainly is a lot of ifs. I dunno if we're all a little further down the road.. The Roseville fans keep bringing up Mueller's performance at Aldrich.. Let it go. His performance in their next meeting was far from the one at Aldrich.

His performance at Aldrich wasn't that great either, WB's backup goalie(Abrahamson) let in some really soft goals.

Bears win, 4-3. Mueller blew a penalty shot with 30 seconds left after a delay of game call on the Bears.

Questions:

Did anyone get a good look at Roseville's third goal? I thought the puck hit the crossbar and bounced back, but the goal judge said it went in.

What about the delay of game penalty? Did the Bears' player lift the net?[/b]

I was sitting on the goal line and it was clearly a goal.

I was on that goal line as well... I agree. I can't believe the refs had to question it. It was clearly a goal. Good shot.

And yes, there wasn't any doubt that he knocked the net off - and the ref was right next to him when he did it. He made the call he had to make. It sucks that he would have to do make it that late in a playoff game, but by rule, he really had no choice.

Certainly was a well officiated game and hat's off to Sager and the boys for pulling out a hard fought W.

Good flow to this one and good speed on both sides. Thought the Raiders had em there with ~6:00 to go in the 3rd. But, as has become the norm, WB finds a way to finish against Roseville in sections. Good luck to the Bears in the championship game.

Ya'll had a nice season after what could have been a disasterous start. Kudo's to the coaching staff and the team for pulling together and righting the ship.

What a game!

Yes to both accounts. The shot clearly went in and the WBL defenseman clearly knocked the net off.

This game had everything in it. The first 14 minutes of the first had alot of neutral zone stuff and than boom 4 goals in the last 3 minutes. A unbelievable 3rd period which saw the lead change twice and a penalty shot to boot .. absolutely great competitve game.

As a impartial viewer I thought the officials did a great job letting the boys decide the game. The salute to the crowd that WBL did after the game was also very classy. After tonights game and both coaches only using 2 lines and 2 sets of def from mid of 2nd on .. I'm not sure either one of them would be able to handle Hill.

Just another wonderful night of Minnesota High school hockey. I cant wait for the match ups at Marrucci tomorrow night.

Thanks for the responses, everyone. I wasn't paying attention to the net area when the Bears' player pulled it off, and I wasn't sure WHAT I saw when Roseville scored their third goal.

What a fantastic game, though!

As far as Roseville's goal, I saw it, but i didn't have a good enough vantage point to honestly say one way or another. I was shot, hit something and bounced out pretty quickly. As far as the delay of game, I'd say it was pretty blatant. There was a big flurry of activity in front of the net with 35 seconds to go and the 4 clearly pushed the net off. Anyways it was a very exciting game. Does anyone know if SCC taped it and is going to show it and if so when? I want to record it. Looking forward to the WBL - HM game Friday. Hopefully WBL will be able to keep it closer than their previous outings against HM and pull out a win.

I could really care less about Roseville's questionable goal. The zebras dubbed it legit ant that's that. Hats off to White Bear though, heck of a game. Little iffy on a few plays in their own zone though. And my god, Owen Collette, way to hang in there kid. White Bear had some very nice goals. What a turnout for the White Bear Lake student section. Really put Roseville to shame. It would be nice if more high schools had turnouts like that and were able to match at least a fraction of the WBL section's intensity.

Did Mueller show up for the game? I swear I saw a Raider wearing #27, but I couldn't tell for sure.. Everyone was talking about how electrifying he would be, how he couldn't be contained.. Oh, whoops, he was out there, it just looked like he had something caught in his throat during that penalty shot..

Again, great job by both teams. White Bear pulls off the much needed momentum boosting win for their big game against the Pioneers this Friday. Expect a great game either way and a WBL student section in full force.

okay CFM- I have to reply. first, let me be truthful and admit that I am a parent of a Roseville hockey player. both teams played a great game last night, and although of course I am disappointed that Roseville lost, that doesn't take away from the fact that it was a great game.

I don't know why everyone is so down on the missed penalty shot. Adam has had the pressure on him all year to lead this team. and he has. White Bear was able to contain him last night, good for them. the one opportunity he had to score is the most pressure shot ever, a penalty shot in a section game in front of a large crowd in the coli. and he missed. so that makes him a bad player? I don't think so and no one in Roseville thinks that. and, I don't think any player for WBL thinks so either. so lay off Adam. I'm sure he will replay that scenario in his head a thousand times. he doesn't need blockheads telling him he choked. AND he still has his scholarship to Mankato.

one more thing, I haven't read one post congratulating Bobby Monsour on having a hat trick last night. he stepped up and played his heart out and was able to get his shots past a very good goalie. that is what a good first line is all about. making sure the player with the hot stick gets the shots.

and no, my kid is not Adam or Bobby.

I thought he had the right idea on the penalty shot... I think for kids, taking it out to the wing and coming across is a great way to go because it won't force them to do a whole lot of stick handling to be successful. He just took a bad angle and got himself caught. It happens. And I'll agree with you Diana, it's easy to say the kid "choked", but until you're put in that position - your season on the line, :30 seconds left, 8000 eyes staring at you - you can't honestly say that the same wouldn't happen to you too.

I was thinking the same thing, surprised no one mentioned that earlier. I guess it got overshadowed by the penalty shot and everything else in the game.

As a White bear fan I have to say this, Adam did not choke, he is a hell of a hockey player and the best player on the ice last night. He just got a bad break on the penalty shot. Also Bobby had a great game, congrats on the hat trick. Either team could have won last night and Roseville has nothing to hang their heads about.

No one is saying Mueller is a bad player and if they did they would be wrong. At least being a WB fan and seeing things he has done against us so far this year i think we just all expected to see more out of him. It's hard not to tear into him as he has gave our student section a few gestures expecially after they beat up 5-0 earlier this year. But i agree that its not fair to say he chocked and i wish him all the best as he plays for Mankato next year.

I'm not equating Mueller to being an untalented hockey player, nor am I trying to take away from the fact that Roseville put up a great fight. I just am puzzled as to why a bunch of people on here have been just talking up this kid like no other. Yeah, he is an outstanding player but he just wasn't that impressive last night. Not impressive enough to live up to the way people have been talking him up. All things aside, shooting but not scoring and not getting a shot off in a penalty shot are two entirely different scenarios. I'm not looking to defame the kid, he had a lot of pressure on him and he choked. You may not like to hear it, but it is what happened. I thought Roseville played well, and so did Bobby but I was merely trying to point out the fact that Mueller didn't have the game everyone said he would. Good luck White Bear.

That was a whale of a game last night, that's why I go to these games. There was no doubt that the fans and the teams didn't like each other, it was physical but relatively clean considering.

It seemed like Roseville let up when they took the lead in the third period and that's what really cost them. Watching Edina on Saturday keep coming at Holy Angels with a multi goal lead made it clear to me that a killer instinct is one of the things that separates a top 5 team from a top 15 team. You have to give the Bears credit for making the plays and coming back but Roseville needed to keep applying the pressure and they didn't.

Adam Mueller played a great game, the missed penalty shot shouldn't define his season or the game. He left everything on the rink and his passes set up at least two of the Roseville goals. Paul Dettling also played a good game, he kept coming at the Bears despite getting leveled a couple of times.

After the game several WBL players came over to the Roseville bench and shook hands or talked to some of the Raiders. Somebody already mentioned the salute they gave the student section, this team seems to have some class.
It's hard to win when you always lose.
