Little Falls will not be a contender in A next year. When they lose the Hanowski's they lose their team.

Edina is an obvious one, but it all may depend on who stays & goes.

Holy Angels: If Mattson stays, they will be tough.

Hopkins: They'll only be better than last year.

EP (see Edina & Holy Angels regarding players sticking)

If Pitlick can endure one more season of Stutz getting all his girls for him, they will be very good.

C'mon Tyler, play with your buddies. One more time.
They had a sophmore James Hughes who looked pretty good. Hopefully Pitlick stays, he is fun to watch. Which upcoming bantam players will be players to watch?
Agreed on Hughes, he should of got more ice time than he did this year.

I doubt any Sophmore will make varsity except the goalie Brett Larsen. I haven't seen the bantams play this year but heard Flynn is doing well. The cupboard is pretty full.

I'm sure Aus will do wonders with all this talent.

Hill will be looking to fill some very BIG holes and BSM returns a solid goalie to rebuild with. (Meyers)

The loss of Ness will be big for the Rams but they are bringing back a decent core, including Lee. I don't see any reason to think that Roseau can't once again come out of 8AA.

Edina returns some offensive threats but loses a few studs too; Gleason, Leer, Gaarder, Cash$. I think these loses will hurt more than people think.

Can Tonka reload around Prochno, young Gardiner and netminder Kruger? (Kruger looked better than Buonomo at times this year.)

Hopkins gets most everyone back and I really like the upside to this club.

Centennial will be looking to make a run now that those freshman from a couple years ago are becoming seniors. But, as noted, the loss of Pitlick would be huge to the Cougers and Hanna's graduation this year sure won't help.

You can never predict who is going to come together as a team as the season progresses and find ways to pull off the W when they need to. That's the beauty of sport and that's what keeps us interested. :D

For Centennial I think the graduation of Hanna is exactly what they needed. That kid could not stop a beach ball this year. They should have played with one of those boards you put up when you have no goalie at practice then they maybe could have won a few more games

Neut, are you trying to tell us that Tyler Pitlick has trouble with the ladies or whats the deal down at Centennial?

Oh and to relate to this topic, everyone knows Edina will go undefeated until the state tournament. :D

NO, no, no... I'm just saying Stutz is such a magnet... I'm sure Tyler has the pick of the "Lost City".

saint thomas will most likely not be the top A team in the state. if you look at who they are losing they will only be a top 10 team. they lose their top 4 forwards assuming walters goes to the ushl, and isaacson goes to ann arbor, and they lose 5 senior defense and are left with a sophomore defensemen with very limited experience. unless some star freshmens transfer in saint thomas probably wont be a top five contender for the state title.

Edina was the #1 seed at the state tournament last season, went 2-1, and won the Consolation hardware.

Edina was the #2 seed this year, lost in the final, and was Runner-up.

Is this the underachieving team of which you speak?

I think Holy Angels has to be on anyone's short list of contenders just below Edina. Hopkins too, as Fons moves to 11th grade and their phenom becomes a freshman. The other teams listed all make sense to me.

Edina will be the favorite for sure.
Yeah it is. If you don't think Budish, Everson, Lee, and Gleason fully expected to win the state championship this year, you would just be dead wrong. When your team is that much more talented than every other team in the state, anything less than a state championship is an underachievment.

not only losing boese, but rob johnson led the hounds in scoring for the last 2 years, after those two seniors, they really will be fine as lots of great players still around...maybe cloquet can be sent to section 8 ha ha
As for Single A

Virginia will be a good team, still have Grivette, Westin, Lustig and Krebsbach

Hibbing Will be a solid Team: Lose DeCenzo, Estey and Sandstrom, Still have Jamnick, Hanegmon, Vechell, Wagner, Peratelo and Johnson Coming Back, The Question will be who's in Nets, i hear Hibbing has a Really Good Kid in Bantams, Nathan Tromp i believe his name is, that will take this role but who knows

The HM JV has a few up an comers. Im guessing that the youngest Phillippi(I believe, unless there is another) will make the team, and Tim Shaughnessy should be in a tandem with Mcginley until we get a #1. Josh Olson is coming up for his senior season and should do well. Bruchu will make the jump and replace sova/dolan. Alex Kelly really emerged during the tourney and should lead this team next year in the defensive zone. Zepeda, Widing, Westerhaus, and Kohls should anchor another solid top 2 lines. And there is another Sova and another McCallum on their way, if they make varsity, I don't know, but we shall see

that could be the achilles heal of HM next year. Both goalies are unproven at the varsity level.

That is some good information you got there. I take it down at Centennial they play for the ladies and those two rack up the majority. Impressive.

BIAFP is still around? Is it possible he met with the wizard & got some courage (by the way, which team do you support again)? Is his stomach full of crow yet?

Hey BIAFP, how bout those Pioneers? How bout those northern schools? Nice showing by 7AA & 8AA...thanks for coming to the cities & showing everyone how the game is played up north.

Being a Hill alum, I loved what the Pioneers did, for so many reasons. One of which was knowing how many people like yourself hated watching it.

for minnetonka kruger was undefeated so that area looks dec... otherwise all depends who progresses and trains hard like every other team.

As far as LF goes Ben Hanowski could have gone this year to Ann Arbor and didn't so there is a solid chance he wouldn't go.

As far as STA this is the crucial time for them. Gotta get those recruits transferred quick so they can play hockey for them.

Minnesotahockeyjournal.com is showing a photo of the 13 Edina teams they are sending to state this year. I don't think we have heard the last of Edina!

If I knew how to insert photo, I would.
