Well, having a daughter on one of those teams, I do know there's some grumbling out there, but the coaches have a very difficult job. I've always maintained that these guys put in the work - they should get to pick who they want. The system is not perfect, but I do appreciate how they try to make it as transparent as they do.
The very top is easy to find, as is the bottom. It's the huge number on the middle where, because there are so many players with roughly equivalent ability, you could go any number of ways. It's probably not a problem that most other associations can identify with.
And just to set the record straight, there are four first-years on U12a White. One of whom I know just wants to start playing games.
