I would say Edina or Centennials first lines would have to be the best.
You maybe correct NorthernHockey23...But I was not making any comparisons...It was just my opinion that they do deserve some recognition along with the rest of the names/lines listed...

Centennial,s line was excellent. With that being said I thought Tardy and Forbert had as much talent as any player on the ice. Just my opinion and I realize this thread is about best line in the state.
Do I have to shadow Pavelich again coach?

Rochester Lourdes’ Cole Peterson, Tyler Voigt and Taylor Funk
Little Falls’ Ben Hanowski, Ben Nelson and Wesley Waytashek
Duluth East’s Jayce Paulseth, Max Tardy and Joe Nelson
Virginia/MIB’s Chris Westin, Garrett Hendrickson and Andrew Judnick
Minnetonka’s Max Gardiner, Tommy Lundquist and Sam Coatta
Jefferson’s Tyler Dietzler, Caleb Herbert and Zach Knight

Hopkins’ Travis Boyd, Archie Skalbeck and Nate Seashore
Woodbury’s Max Gaede, Tony Pittman and Connor Delaney/Tyler Nowicki
St. Francis’ Joey Benik, T.J. Belisle and Tyler Lebeaux
St. Thomas Academy’s Christian Isackson, Justin Crandall and AJ Reid
Apple Valley’s Chris Fischer, Colton Warner and Michael Berens
Burnsville’s Zach May, Andy Pearson and Adam Smyth

Moorhead’s Quinn Buckellew, Kyle Kraemer and Trent Johnson
Benilde’s Pat Cron, Christian Horn and Pat Steinhauser
Blaine’s Nick Bjugstad, Gavin Tufte and Tyler Turnquist
Holy Angels’ Danny Mattson, Ryan Reilly and Connor Reilly
St. Paul’s Mike Anderson, Sam Wilczyk and Jake Wallner
Centennial’s Willie Hess, Tyler Pitlick and Jordan Lovick
Hill-Murray’s Isaac Kohls, Nick Widing and Tyler Zepeda

Some of these guys I know play on the same line because I've seen them play. Some I'm quite certain do, and some are a bit more questionable.

Any additions?

Now that Lee, Everson and Gaarder are together on the 1st line, I think they probably take the cake.

There are some great lines listed, but love em or hate em, no doubt the Edina boys are the best. Kind of scary when they still have the best line and their best player (arguably) is out for the season.

Doesn't Edina now go from 2 of the best line to one - granted THE best line in the state, but wise for the long term? Isn't it easier to beat a team with only one strong line or are they strong enough to stop all competitors? Didn't see them play but I'm sure they are a force!! Can't imagine how amazing they would be two lines deep with the amazing Budish.

It's an interesting question, and one that was debated quite a bit last year as well as this year.

Last year, I didn't really like the Lee-Budish-Everson line, which is what they were going with by the state tournament. I thought they were deep enough to spread them out and have two quality lines. To me, Edina looked better when they had two lines flying around causing problems, as they did in their win over East (with the Lee-Budish-Everson line being the PP line), than they did at State, when they seemed to be relying on one line for all the scoring.

This year, without Budish, though, I feel they're better off loading up with Everson-Lee-Gaarder. Though they have some intriguing options with Sit, Eppel, Taft, etc., I think they are better served with one solid line that's been together for some time now. The early returns suggest that as well; the Schwan Cup should give us a clearer picture.

All great points. I think you're right. The Schwan's Cup will provide the answer. thanks for the thoughtful reply!

You hit the nail on the head and I completely agree, except I think Sit should be on the third line and the second line should remain Eppel-Taft-Blake Chapman.

Also, they used that line against EP and maybe Elk River, but the line had no practice time and was out of sync. The Schwan cup will tell up whether the game last night was a fluke or a sign of more dominance to come.

I think the topic was about lines that are actually good. I didnt even see any of those names on Holy Angels roster.

Maple Grove has two very good lines that should be mentioned as well.

Josh Gross, Matt Dee and Sophomore Danny Carlson
Tommy Malone, Alec Horton and Isaac Sinz

WELL THERE, If you want good hockey, look at the Herbert line at Jefferson, or the everson in edina. So come on maple grove shovel shot, when has maple grove ever been a threat to anything but a busch league team. Quit sticking up for your sons team.

Well Maple Grove is ranked 10th in AA, so theres probably quite a few non bush-league teams that consider them a threat. Good 2nd post though.
Everyone hates private schools (and Edina)!!

Sadly it appears so. And the new Edina top line of Everson, Gaarder and Lee would now top the rankings fairly easily...how things change as the season goes along...

Karl, I'm impressed,You're right on. The Hornets should have split their first line up last year instead of making Gaarder a defensive player on the second line. Now with Budish gone, I think the coaches are going to ride Everson, Lee and Gaarder like Zorro! Hopefully they'll develop a second and third line so the first line doesn't get gassed by March.

Looks like Maple Grove's #1 line shut down Lovick and Hess pretty well on Saturday?
