What does the new top 5 look like?

Jefferson, like Little Falls, has no business being number one. They have a cake schedule compared to other top teams. They play a few good team, who they've done well against, but they've done poorly against bottom teams. Beating Burnsville by 2, Wayzata and Lakeville North by only 1 and Kennedy by 4 (possibly taking it easy because they're another Bloomington team) just doesn't cut it in my book.

Jefferson played Wayzata, but that's it. Play Tonka, Hopkins, Edina, Hill. Blaine, Woodbury, Stillwater, Cennential, Benidle to figure it they are real or not.

My top 10

1. Centennial
2. Edina
3. Blaine
4. Eden Prairie
5. Holy Angels
6. Bloomington Jefferson
7. Duluth East
8. Minnetonka
9. Wayzata
10. Maple Grove

Eden Prairie only beat Burnsville by 2, beating Wayzata, a team you list in your top ten by 1 early in the season is a weak game? The Lakeville North game teams have off games, on that same night EP only beat Lakeville South by 1. Oh and whats wrong with giving your third line a ton of playing time in a game and still winning with ease. Jefferson may not be #1 worthy, but they should be atlest top 3.

Sorry, but Eden Prairie hasn't beaten anyone in the top 10 besides Minnetonka so I don't understand how they can be ranked higher than Jefferson.

agree that EP is untested and overrated at this point in the season. Even the Tonka game was more about Tonka beating Tonka then EP beating them. They made some really goofy mistakes and it was early in their season. Shots were even. EP is clearly a good team as they demonstrated in the Edina and Tonka game but if I had to bet my life on it I would be hardpressed to place them between #1 to #10 at this point...

I like Centennial here as #1 as they have proven they are playing at a high level. Edina as a #2 is probably fit. A couple of poor losses to bring them to reality. Giles needs to not depend on his 1st line and rest them for section play. EP has played a tough schedule. We will see what happens against Jefferson on 2-10. The Blaine team is over-rated. They have a good team, but should not be recogized in the top 5 team, top 10 for sure. As for Jefferson, their whole schedule was rather weak by not playing top 10 rated teams. The only real team in the Lake schedule is EP.

How is Blaine overrated? One loss to an Edina team that was playing VERY good hockey at the time. They tied centennial AT Centennial. They outplayed Duluth east in a very well played hockey game. And, although i dont think it says much, they have a better record than anyone in the top 10 except Jefferson..

How is Blaine over rated? They outplayed Duluth East and beat them 5-3 EN. They tied Centennial, who has "proven they are playing at a high level," in Centennial. They beat Maple Grove 6-1 and Elk River 5-1, both probably top 20 teams. Only loss, obviously, is to Edina which got out of hand but I'm pretty confident that they're not 4 goals better than Blaine. Really, their body of work is probably better than Jeffersons (not saying they deserve to be ahead of them) and EP and I think the head to head speaks for itself against East.

As for the EP comments, you don't need to win against certain teams to prove yourself. EP played Edina twice and lost both times by 1 goal. No one else has lost to Edina all season by only one goal. That should speak for itself.

I would completely agree with you, however, what quality WINS do they have that puts them ahead of Blaine? Just because they lost by a smaller margin to Edina doesn't quite do it for me....

They have played 7 top teams and are 0-7-1 in those games, with the biggest margin of victory in them being 3 goals, that happening twice. They have lost, very closely, to all the top teams they have played and have beaten all their other opponents. They will be the #2 seed in 7AA and probably be playing East just as tough as anyone to go to state.

Jeffersons three additional non conference wins were against three North Dakota teams. Where would they be if they would have lined up a Holy Angel, Duluth East, Edina, Hill, Blaine, Hopkins, Tonka or Benilde teams be at. I doubt they would be undefeated at this point.
