The worst thing about the bias against East in Duluth is that at times the kids are the ones that dont get the respect they deserve. This group of kids have worked very hard all there lifes to get to this point, and they dont deserve to be categorized like that by a narrow minded hypocrytical opinion.
Good Luck today boys were behind you!
Interestingly enough, all of his other blog posts have a comment section, but this one doesn't. Hmm. I'd relish an opportunity to set this man straight on a few facts.
I can't believe I spent any time reading that article. Wrong on many notes. He's definitely just stirring up the pot more than anything. Can't wait to see the results of some good games this weekend! Go Hounds!!
I know you hear from back in the day always shoot, take the shot , get anything on the net.... But how is it east with 75% of the time DOMINATE shots and not score ...
from what alot of people say on the board here its a hot goalie for the other team, but it seems to me thats all there doing taking ANY type of shot without alot of pass plays or strategy , no QUALITY shot just dumps on the net..
I havent seen east play all year in person but i remember when i was at east in the late 90s we always had 40+ shots a game but had the scoring numbers to match it... east lacks the big time goal scorers they used to have
Did I really just turn on this radio feed to hear this game in overtime? Incredible. Regardless of who wins, this is what sections is all about. The epitome of excitement, I love it.
First off, congrats to Paul Moberg and co. for an amazing game. They put it all out there, and deserve recognition.
And to the Hounds...congrats for finally breaking through. It's easy to get down when things go wrong early, and when the shots simply aren't going through. Props for their relentlessness, never saying "here we go again," and getting what they needed to do done. Improvement will obviously be necessary on Thursday night, but maybe now that they're over this, they can be loose and play East hockey.
So being that elk river is the better team , but anything can happen between east and CEC , is east up on there game ? who would the east fans rather see in the finals??
not for excitement ( thats obvious ) but what team will give east the biggest challenge? Cuz the finals is obviously a completely different ball game than regular season

That's a very good, and interesting, question. I'll continue to say I want Cloquet for personal revenge purposes, but I will not lose any sleep if they lose.
It depends whether, as an East fan, you are more comfortable with a test matching talent (Elk River) or mental fortitude (Cloquet).

Being from WBL, I pay attention to this Moberg dude. This wasn't a fluke... His yearly save percentage was .919 and he faced an average of 33 shots per game... His GAA was 2.77. He was the reason they beat and tied Woodbury this year, and what kept Flake in every game.
Wow, what a game from Moberg. Talk about a C L dude between the pipes. Congrats to East in snappin the streak/curse but really I think Moberg stole the show.

tough call based on regular season scores alone cec made it close ( in goals ) the second time around ..
As the old saying goes its hard to beat a good team twice , and in easts situation a excellent rival 3 times in one season, and both are now on the east boys shoulders..
Gonna be another great final none the lessand i cant wait,,.. i guess my choice would be this.. If i was at the DECC id want cec , but im gonna be watching from the couch for this one due to work, so im pulling a lil for ER
and for the fact that everytime they meet in the section cec seems to pull out miracles nomatter ranking or record
