They're still a looooooooooooooonnnnnnnnggggggggggg way from making the tournament. But, at least they're headed in the right direction - unlike Tartan.
Tartan had an off game and Johnson capitalized on it. Tartan will be coming in hot next year folks, whether you like it or not. They will have their entire A Bantam team on Varsity, about 15-18 skaters. These guys had an unbelievable A Bantam year and will do the same next season just at the Varsity level.
Now I know some of you are saying, "well that was A Bantams, this is High School hockey." But the truth is, almost every kid who plays A Bantams their 2nd year at the Bantam level will be on the Varsity team their Senior year, look at other schools, its the truth. So what I'm saying is Tartan will be hot next year without a doubt. I'm not saying State Champs (though possible) but they will definitely make it to state. These boys have been playing on the same team since A Squirts and have more teamwork, commitment, leadership, discipline, and bonding than any other group of hockey players I've ever seen.

It should be great season for the Tartan Titans next year. =D>

Can we hold you to all of that?

For one thing, upsets are always possible. Just ask Tartan today.

Yes you can hold me to all of that, without a doubt. And yes upsets are possible, look at yesterday's games. Tartan will be better next year and the Juniors that played in yesterday's game will remember this feeling come next year, and will remember that with any team you play you always need to give 110%. Even if it is the 1st seed vs. 8th seed.

Tartan might be better next year, but if you're talking about the whole A bantam team reinforcing, I would think they would be a young team next year - The biggest obstacle that they will face next year is not a gritty Johnson team. It will be an excellent Hill - Murray team who has most of next years team already on it - still with a pulse - gaining experience. This year was Tartans chance, they will not compete with the Pioneers next year, and you can hold me to it. :D

I am talking about a whole A Bantam team, and they will be the farthest thing from a young team next season. They will all be Seniors, all 17 of them! Tartan will be better than Hill Murray next year, especially because of all of those Seniors they have/will have lost. =D>

What dream? All I'm saying is Tartan is going to have a ton of Seniors next year and they will be good. I never said they are going to win every game and be state champions.. no, I said they will be good.

What he is getting at is that the Current Tartan High school team all played Bantams together. It is a rarity in the East Metor for this to happen, but this team and Woodbury were pretty good Bantams teams 3 years ago.

But yet I have to ask you WHAT DID THEY DO AT THAT LEVEL? VFW?? My I remind you...............NOTHING

Some of those A Bantams are currently playing together yes, but even more will join the team next year. Those A Bantams are Juniors now, will be Seniors next year, therefore they are all CURRENTLY playing together and will also be playing together next year.

I see the point that mn hockey73 is making and he is correct, Tartan will be strong next year. The problem is that Hill-Murray will be loaded next year and Johnson and Stillwater will also have very good teams, so Tartan may very well be better next year than they were this year and still not do as well in the conference or in terms of section seeding.

73 - Tartan may very well be a good team next year, but they missed a golden opportunity this year with the Pioneers down. Tartan will have their Bantam team back together, but Hill Murray will have 16 returning players next year, and will be a very good team. That makes their loss to Johnson that much bigger.

yea tartan will have there A bantam group from a couple years ago togaether but it wont matter. They are too afraid to play hockey, they try and dangle and they cant, they dont hit, they dont lead, they are the most selfish hockey players i have ever seen. The only reason they lost on saturday was because Johnson played physical and the juniors and 2 seniors didnt have the balls too. Also Tartan needs Humphrey too retake the head coaching job, without him at the top, they will continue to be eliminated in the first round.

73 - correct me if I'm wrong here but your glorious Bantam A squad finished 4th in D2 and went 1-2 in playoffs and are currently getting their golf clubs out of the shed. With Roseville, WB and Stillwater all finishing above them (and in the same section) what would make me think Tartan is the team for next season???

On another note, Congrats to Moose and the squad. Very happy to see the East Side pride moving on!

Get off your high horse. You just lost to St. Paul Johnson who had to play a play-in game to get to play Tartan. Oh yes and you were the #1 seed. Good luck next year on your smooth road to the tourney!

i am a tartan fan, but tartan fans on here try and talk up there team too much and embarass alumni. Keep what you think about tartan too yourself, you make tartan and everyone who played there look dumb. Tartan will not go anywhere next year because there team and manager are too worried about writing on here and not worried about how they lost to a #8 seed in section.

I think with 17 seniors next year Tartan will have a legitimate shot at making it to state, but just cause they look good on paper doesn't mean they can come through. Just look at Holy Angels getting upset in sections in 2006 after winning the state championship in 2005. As for the person who said get Humphrey back in there, you are an idiot. It is still the same coaches and when he started, he's just not the head coach. Humphrey was just merely the person who inherited great teams, look what happened after 2005: Nothing. Which is why he "retired." Which why they should need a clean slate when it comes to coaches.

im an idiot huh? Humphrey was the most successful coach Tartan had, he didnt just come in and inherit a good team, he had 2 years where Tartan was nothing before they went too state. And the year after they went too state the 2nd time, the reason they were so bad was because they had selfish seniors who decided too quit in the middle of the year. And the reason for Humphrey to retire was because of there parents complaining he was too hard on them. Coach of the year the year before he retires and you dont think hes a good coach? also, the seniors next year will also disappoint tartan because they will talk themselves up on here and then blow it next year. The only kids who deserve too have a good season next year are Rowe and Mckee, this year and last year they quit and screwed the seniors of those 2 years over.

That was this years team the team he is talking about is the team 3 years ago who was ranked in the top 10 for the whole year and it wouldn't surprise me to see tartan taking their glory next year like they did when they went to state two years in a row at the varsity level.

Well 1. yes you are an idiot. 2.The first year Humphrey was there yes they didn't go to state but the 2nd year they did he knew the talented sophomores and juniors he had when he took the job. A monkey could have coached those teams to state, cause not only were they good, but the section was fairly weak and I guarantee parents weren't complaining cause he was too hard, trust me there were other reasons. Yes he did get coach of the year but the reason he won was because THE TEAM not humphrey won those games. He retired cause he didn't like the talent coming in.
