I think Flake was the only SEC team to win yesterday. This conference is very weak and up for grabs.
I still think CDH and Woodbury have the best chances of making it to state. Problem is, if they make it, it will be two and out.
SEC in turmoil???

alot of season left
With alot of the season left there is going to be some great hockey coming up.
There is great talent on WBL's team - both need to watch out - like Woodbury they're hoping they can pull this together end of season - the talent is there. CDH trains harder than than Woodbury and WBL. Tartan's working as hard as they can with the talent they have - not top - but not to shabby either. Park is Tartan level hockey along with East Ridge.
I agree it seems Gaede is down right now. Someone did say he had Mono during the Elite season and missed some of the games maybe it comes back around. It looked like he was on his game at the end of elite season - he choose his school. No one to pass to and skate with now is frustrated.
I can't even guess the SEC win this year

My initial thread post seems to have become more of a reality, as the balance within the conference seems to be realtively the closest as it has been in years. Until a team can knock off CDH, and start putting some Ls on the board, teams 2-5 appear to be the same, but it's not as easy as it used to be.
Outside the conference, it just doesn't seem we have the teams to standup to the big boys.
Other than WBL's victory over Holy Angels, and Cretin over BSM, the next best non-conference victories may be Stillwater and Forest Lake over Grand Rapids, but those aren't huge wins.
CDH: losses to Benilde and Burnsville
Woodtown: Losses to Tonka, Centennial, Edina, Wayzata and Elk River
Stillwater: losses to Breck and Tonks
WBL: losses to Hill (twice), Duluth East, St. Thomas.
I am not sure any team can make a legitimate claim as a strong contender come sections.

I agree with Golfish Dude on this one. If anyone in this conference makes it to stat it will not last long in the winners bracket, unless they draw the likes of section 1 or possibly 8. Oh yeah, thats right they will not get a 1 thru 4 seeding and will be forced to play a # 1 or 2. ( still a horrible decision to seed the state tourney)
