Youngblood that entire section about the reffing was pretty unneccesary,. As a referee you can not allow players to argue or abuse you. If he needed to open the door to tell a kid to shut his pony mouth or he's gonna get another penalty, that sounds pretty reasonable.
Maybe Stillwater just needs to learn a little more discipline instead of blaming it on poor officiating.
I'm gonna have to side with my Aldrich rivals on this one.

Pony players are good at mouthing off and throwing the fnheimers around. No wonder they lose. Good game Royals.
They had one class player that came out of that program and played D1 hockey in the last 10 years that I know of and I remember my buddy from over there telling me that kid never got a chance to play on an A team in Stillwater Hockey. Good job on the player development and selection over there

Relax. They are not gonna win a conferense title (again) but they could make another long run in sections (or pull a Tartan and get bounced in the 1st rd...I love throwing that in whenever possible). There is talent there & I'm sure Housley will work his majic (my typical shot at Housley).
Simple rule: When ya win, say little. When ya lose, say even less.
This place would really be quiet if everyone followed that rule!

If you are referring to Adam Berkhoel, he actually grew up in Woodbury, but thanks to the crazy Minnesota school district boundaries, he was a Pony.
This is the only Woodbury resident that I've heard of that played for Stillwater. It doesn't seem like there have been too many to do this.

You can't blame the Stillwater players for the way they "communicate" to the Refs, they are just following the example of their coach. The "Entitled One" who carries the attitude of "don't you know who I am & what I did?" has a poor reputation among officials/coaches throughout the state. Quality coaches would not allow players to bark back at officials, but Housley slaps them on the back and says, "way to run my system". Class starts at the top & apparently Phil forgot to take notes.

Mr Wonderful will be off to the NHL most likely next year because Jr is a senior. Do I have faith in the boosters over in Stillwater to pick a coach who will clean up that program? Very little but I do hope for the kids they do.

They beat a very average team in Roseville and everyone got way to excited. Stillwater is not that good this year.
According to one of the parents, the reason they are struggling is because the coach doesn’t even have the right players on Varsity. Elmer Fud (we’ll call him) said his Kid got screwed and is stuck on JV. WHEN ARE THESE PARENTS GONNA LEARN! This guy is crazy.

I can make a guess why Stillwater has the issues that it has with consistency and lack of team play. Too many parents yapping to the point that it plays negatively on the kids. I am sure Mr. Phil Hously took this big paying job to simply look out for his kids (yeah right). Too bad you folks cannot see that the glass is half full. You have a nice bunch of Senior kids on that team and a good program to build from but it will go nowhere when all you do is cut each other down.
I was at the Woodbury/Stillwater game and there was a group of men, not sure if they were parents, on the Stillwater side that shouted at the officials through most of the game. The refs hear that stuff, and let's be honest, it's going to effect how they call the game. I was embarrassed for the Stillwater fans who were there to watch the game and support their team. It was SW's parents night, and they played pretty good I thought. Stats show SW took 14 mins in penalties, WB took 12. I thought it was a pretty clean game and there were some questionable calls, but the yelling at the refs was just unnecessary and set a bad example.
Take the high road SW fans, refs remember you. No, I'm not a ref.
thurston770 you have a point. However, we have had the same problems with a few refs. I am not hear to say the refs determine the outcome of a game, but there are a few who think they are the show. Ref the game, keep the game under control, call a penalty when a penalty is committed and otherwise be invisible.

After seeing how some parents get while watching these games... Are you sure it's not the other way around??? Many find it really tough to remain objective on penalty calls, and IF kids could consistently keep their mouths shut, maybe they would see a few more calls go their way. Face it, if you get that kind of reputation, most officials aren't interested in putting up with that stuff.
