Hill chased Guentz?? This is news to me! I was of the understanding that Don basically blamed Guentz for a down year/Holy Cross (timing?) Asking him to "step down" the nice guy version of "you're fired".

First of all, Frattin's a solid rock.
Secondly, who on the Gopher team is physically able to go after him?Or any other Sioux? I just don't see it.

Force,
I am a Sioux fan, trust me. But I know Hoeffel can throw his weight around (when he wants). Other than that, you're right; not many Gophers could take Fratts, unless they get him with his head down...

Nice win for the Gophers, but why does it appear that they cannot clear the zone to save their lives....

Hey Zanman I agree, how many times did the gophs have control of the puck with time but still chose to try to clear it on their backhand....the dreaded backhand, a coaches nightmare.

Because that is how John Hill coaches the defense.

Puck control was an issue all night for the Gophs... Forwards & D on one timers and clearing the zone...

Patterson played very well :!:

Good win for the kids :!:
Pairwise creeping...

It was a pleasant change on a Friday night, in a relevant game, against a good opponent, it was fun to watch my favorite college hockey team again... :D
It felt like eight years ago again... Okay, lets not get too carried away... But it was a fun one to watch, I will say that...

It would make my weekend to see a sweep

Nothing better than to see the Sioux crowd squirm in their barn... :D

Ya, they stood up. I imagine before the anti-brawling rules came into effect it would've been worse. I still think the Gophers need to be more physical.

Did anybody else hear the interview of Hill before the 3rd period? The guy has no clue. I wonder what locker room he was in?

First I noticed Baribault (sp?) didn't play in the 2nd period. Hill mentions that Baribault (sp?) is out do to a none injury related issue. I'm guessing sickness. Then I see him playing again in the 3rd.

Then Hill talks about who would ever have predicted the Gophers would be up 2-1 with a power play entering the third. Obviously if somebody offered that to them earlier in the week, they would take it. Then the third period starts and ND is on the power play. Why wouldn't a coach know the penalty situation before he enters the locker room between periods. I know I did when I coached!

Get rid of him!

Don't know if Hill is a good coach, but, I'm guessing that the little get together the teams had after the second could've easily resulted in a bunch of coincidentals...with now minors.

NoDak played very well last night. They are a very good defensive team with great puck control :!:

The Gophers again struggled at puck possession. It is the little things that win games, and losing pucks and turnovers hurt this team. They must not work on faceoffs, cause it felt like they lost 90% of the them, and that is huge in puck possession, and in creating & negating opportunities in the O zone...

It was a frustrating game to watch. Very little urgency with a sweep on the line in your biggest rivals barn...
