#2 Roseau vs. #3 Brainerd

Good grief, your still on this topic? Isn't there anything better to talk about? Roseau won, it's over! Move on. Last year it wouldn't
even have mattered because all semi's were in St. Cloud, the year before that TRF. Would you complain about it because Brainerd wouldn't have had last shift change? Moving on, championship tomorrow night! Go Roseau!

Berg Renolz, good post. I too was glad to see the Brainerd team have such a great year. I wasn't at the last game but heard that Brainerd did a lot of booing that upset some parents and grandparents, and copied the Edina students with the old newspaper stunt. Never heard about "Roseau Sucks". I was at the Brainerd Roseau game two years ago and left feeling that Brainerd had the greatest fans in the world. I went to the game in Brainerd again this year and wondered what had happened, such as the over the top home team introduction as the Roseau kids were left standing in the dark on the ice (I heard that when Warroad used to do this type of intro, they did it for both the home and visiting team), or watching one or two Roseau kids skate past the student section between periods and hearing an uproar of boos and seeing the kids shrink back to the other end of the rink. Brought back memories of 7th grade when Oscar Almquist at a pep rally scared the crap out of us kids with his booming voice telling us that booing or any other acts of poor sportsmanship would not be tolerated from Roseau students.

I still think they were given a gift in the seedings and Brainerd deserved the home-ice advantage. The Rams took that gift and beat two very good teams and I hope they carry that momentum to State. I know they will represent section 8AA well!2nd string wrote:Rams Section 8AA champs. Hmm now what do you think about the seeding when the Rams beat Both the 3rd and 1st seed?

Morinville's interview on the radio said he thought Roseau was a "better team" than Brainerd, but gave the vote to Brainerd only for the head-to-head win.blueline1 wrote:I still think they were given a gift in the seedings and Brainerd deserved the home-ice advantage. That's why you play head to head games!HockeyFan1 wrote:Morinville's interview on the radio said he thought Roseau was a "better team" than Brainerd, but gave the vote to Brainerd only for the head-to-head win.blueline1 wrote:I still think they were given a gift in the seedings and Brainerd deserved the home-ice advantage. Maybe in a perfect world, they would play two head-to-head games - one each with home ice. But, one game does not make a season.mulefarm wrote:That's why you play head to head games!HockeyFan1 wrote:Morinville's interview on the radio said he thought Roseau was a "better team" than Brainerd, but gave the vote to Brainerd only for the head-to-head win.blueline1 wrote: I still think they were given a gift in the seedings and Brainerd deserved the home-ice advantage. I can't believe I just wasted time reading this. I am not from Brainerd or Roseau. Look at the teams, record, schedule, etc. The only thing that puts one team over the other is head to head. Brainerd won, should have been 2 seed. If you are from Roseau, Brainerd, or anywhere in between an objective person should agree. What they did against Moorhead doesn't matter, because Roseau lost to Tech. You can't play home and home with all section team with a 25 game schedule. It sad that brutal programs like Becker and Monticello are allowed to determine a teams seed.
Good Luck to Roseau at State.

i agree completely. everyone is talking about how brainerd lost to moorhead twice, and roseau split with them, well brainerd stomped tech twice this year and roseau got beat by tech, in their own rink. seeding could have went either way, really i think the home ice was the difference in this game.
