Elliott I figured these noobs wouldn't understand how I roll, at least you do. I am not from Nevis by the way...ishyelliott70 wrote:SueZ is just loyal to his alma mater team.
Nothing wrong with that.

Nothing wrong with that.I finally got to go to my first PR hockey game of the year. They lost to a VERY strong Praire-Centre team 3-5
(sarcasm) Sam Coborn did have 3 goals, probably the only person on the team that was fun to watch.

I don't know about EGF anymore.MNHockey75 wrote:Huge loss last night for Warroad. TRF controls their own destiny (as far as section seeding is concerned). EGF's loss to Crookston could turn out to be a bad one come seeding time.
As of 1/20:
1. TRF
2. EGF
3. Warroad
4. Crookston
5. LOW
6-9. RLF, PR, Kittson, Bagley
They may be out of it.

Like this probably. Warroad and EGF both have two sections losses, but EGF lost to Crookston and Warroad beat TRF in TRF 5-2. But EGF did beat Warroad. Still a lot of hockey to be played.MNHockey_6 wrote:TRF beat EGF last night and Warroad beat Crookston... again. So what do you guys think the rankings should be now?
1. TRF
2. Warroad
3. EGF
4. Crookston
5. LOW
6-9 RLF, PR, Kittson, Bagley

The way the Green Wave have been playing lately, I would put Crookston ahead of them:
1. TRF
2. Warroad
3. Crookston
4. EGF
5. LOW
6-9 RLF, PR, Kittson, Bagley

Here are my thoughts on the top 4
1. TRF- Most depth of the others, can make many different forward combos. 21 needs to pass as does 66. Good speed!
2. Warroad- can make 2 top lines #13 needs to do more, defense seems to struggle at times, good tender.
3. EGF- without #8 just an average team #17 can’t do it alone. Could drop to 4th.
4. Crookston- has 1 complete line 18, 5, 20. Defense hangs on to long. Not enough depth.

i dont know for sure but he broke his collarbone so its just unrealistic seeing him make it back by the end of the season.TTpuckster wrote:Is he out for the year?eastsidepride7 wrote:I agree with TTpuckster.
1. TRF
2. Warroad
3-4. EGF/Crox
5. LOW
East side is not the same team without Lawdermilt
And is Ausmus still out also?
and ill admit TR has great depth! they would put their 3rd line out against warroad and eastsides top line and they shut down both of them. never giving up a goal

1. Warroad - Looks like the early December swoon was just a bump in the road, establishing control going into the homestretch
2. TRF - Nipping at Warroad's heels, probably have been the most consistent of the 8A teams this season
3. Crookston - Probably the 8A Cinderella this year, worked hard to get to this level but don't have the horses to get any higher
4. Lake of the Woods - Fantastic January W/L wise but most of that was against lower teams but a tie with Proctor and the win over TRF very impressive with their offensive talent but it is no secret this team is built on Lyon. Poised to make A LOT of noise in sections
5. EGF - Injuries set back what could have been
6. Red Lake Falls - Nice record but, like all Northwest Conf teams, strength of schedule isn't that impressive
7. Park Rapids - A one trick pony, cannot beat a team above them
8. Kittson Central - Similar to Park Rapids but without the pony. Ridiculously young roster behind their 2 seniors
9. Bagley/Fosston - Another young team behind 3 seniors. See you in Hallock for the play-in game.
The numbers game is killing the bottom 4 clubs. No bantam programs so the high school programs can keep their numbers viable, kids are missing out on huge development opportunity there playing against competition their own age, even if it was at Bantam B. Instead, their 8th and 9th graders are playing JV or even Varsity talent and schedules. IF the USAH checking initiative passes, these kids will go from no-check Pee Wees to full contact JV and Varsity, what will the numbers do in those programs then? Maybe these programs drop down and play Jr. Gold like the smaller North Dakota towns like Mayville/Portland and Langdon.
