That's actually not offsides if the player has control of the puck.
I believe the rule states it is the position of your skates when the puck crosses the blue line. Both skates across, ofside. One or no skates across, no offside. Quite a few girls think it is OK to change direction or slow way down as they cross the blue line. This leaves their teammates almost doing the splits trying to keep that back toe in the neutral zone.

Rule 626 Off-Sides
(a) Players of an attacking team may not precede the puck into
the Attacking Zone.
(Note) A player actually propelling and in possession and
control of the puck who shall cross the line ahead of the
puck shall not be considered “off-side.”

I'm sure there were many parents/fans feeling the same way..

If the puck carrier is in control of the puck, they can cross the attacking blue line ahead of the puck.


This is a good example of why the fans at a hockey game are disgusted with the officiating at times for no good reason. Not saying this poster is in that group, but it happens every game...
