Hi Pot, my name's Kettle...

You cite one game to make a point, then dispell someone else citing one game to make a point...interesting.

I think there are few that don't think they're a quality team, that with a good goalie would likely be undefeated and in control of their destiny for both section and state seeding. If you put someone like Dugas, Stumpf or Zevnik (top 3 in the state in both save % and GAA) between the pipes they may even be the best team in the state, or at least one of the top 5 regardless of class.

But ignoring what their lack of quality goalie has done to them is to be quite ignorant and arrogant...

I have not been ignoring anything.
I thought I would let the Hawks game results respond to your post.

In Hermantown’s last 5 games they have outscored their opponents by a margin of 36-3.
In the process, they recorded 2 shutouts and shut down 2 of the states top scoring lines in Cloquet and Totino.

In your spare time do a games comparison between your #10 ranked Hawks and your #4 ranked TRF.

By the way, Hermantown’s starting goalie is currently undefeated and a .920

Hermantown - 8
Bemidji - 1
Shots: 42-12

Hermantown -11
Proctor - 0
Shots: 50-8 or so

Hermantown - 9
New Prague - 1
Shots: 37-28

Hermantown - 4
Cloquet - 1
Shots: 37-25

Hermantown - 4
Totino - 0
Shots: 38-20

And yes, I am still looking forward to the Herm/Denfeld game on Tuesday.
It should be an exciting one.

Where will watcher have the Hawks ranked in his next rankings?
My guess is still the bottom half of the top 10.

Side note: What are your current seeds for 5A? Hermantown is down, Legacy is up, Princeton is up, Proctor is down.... Lots of notable skill differences among these teams from what they usually are each year and I'm curious to see where you'd seed them?
I would not be so sure about this... Look at what they did to Bemidji on Saturday compared to everyone else that played them for a clue...
They also played Eagan to a tie and lost to GR in OT...
IMO watcher has them ranked too low but thats fine with me. 8)
In comparison to the last few years I would say they're down wouldn't you?
They're still very good, it's just the last couple years I felt they would walk to the state championship game or at least semifinals. This year I think they could be challenged as early as the section semifinals.
No I would not and now you are starting to see why I said what I said.

Hermantown - 7
Denfeld - 1

And from my vantage point in the rink the 1 Denfeld goal came from a desperation pass from the corner to no one but 3 Hermantown players standing in front of the net who were unlucky enough to deflect the puck into their own net and ruin the shutout.

My guess is Hermantown will be ranked 3 or 4, but that'st would be after a win in Superior and Red Wing. If they can't get by Superior in Wisc., then they deserve to be 5 or 6.

If I was doing the ranking it would be 2 or 3. I've only seen Breck on tv vs. D. East and it's evident where TRF belongs looking at head to head with Hermantown. Anyone can argue the point how much better TRF is, it is also easy to look at Hermantown's results over the last two weeks. Much improved team and I think they've found some good play in between the pipes. EGF just doesn't have the schedule and quality wins IMO.
