I thought the first two periods were fairly even--Burnsville dominated the first half of the first, Edina took over in the second half, and I thought the second period was pretty even. (Edina may have had the puck a bit more, but the Blaze were doing what they needed to do to keep them in check.) In the 3rd, Edina definitely went into defensive lockdown mode--which may also partially explain their "ordinary" effort, as it's hard to flash much individual talent when you're more focused on trapping and dumping the puck. Still, Burnsville had their opportunity at the end to get it done, and it just didn't happen.Nostalgic Nerd wrote:Gotta disagree. Edina was the better team all along. Great effort by the Blaze, but as can often be the case in playoff hockey, one key mistake can kill you. That giveaway in the first really was the difference in an otherwise even game.
Congrats to Edina. 7 in a row.
Outside of Hurley, Malmquist, and maybe one or two others, Edina looks rather ordinary to me.
Though on the whole, I will agree that Edina has been a bit more ordinary than expected this season.
