Thanks for the description of the play. I know the last several years East's style of play has allowed very few shots, but often when shots were allowed they were quality chances. It sounds like this year it is more of the same.karl(east) wrote:Some of both. East's D is good (especially now that Beaulieu has been moved back there) and they break out very effectively, making it hard for other teams to ever set much up in their offensive zone. They forecheck aggressively, and when they do have the puck they will try to set up in the other team's zone and take a lot of shots.Traxler wrote:Are the shot totals down for opponents because East's defense is good? Randolph hockey in a nutshell, basically.
As for the game today, I only saw the second half of it, but it was an obvious improvement. Howg played well, and I agree with the Jeanetta comparison. He isn't conventional and has fought the puck occasionally, but he can make some big saves.
STA and Breck are 2-2 after 1...it'll be a tough game for East tomorrow no matter who wins.
#11 Prior Lake vs. #13 Duluth East

He has a lot too prove before he can be in a class anywhere near Jojo .Slammer wrote:End score- Duluth East- 4 Prior Lake- 1.
Shots in favor of East 33-14. Almost the same shot total against HM.
3 of the 4 goals for DE came off power play goals.
Nice win for the hounds, they really showed some skill on the power play and Howg had a nice day in net making some big saves throughout the game. He playing style reminds me so much of JoJo Jeanetta a couple years ago.
I didn't see much resembling the two at all to be honest
