Well, we all know how much we can trust the hub's box scores, but it looks like the score was 9-0 after two periods, and LN scored five goals during 3rd period running time. The Poehling brothers got two of them.elliott70 wrote:14-0GoBigorGoHome wrote:Does anyone have the final score of the LVN game last night? I was at the game, and it was 10-0 when I left, but I can't find the final anywhere. It's not on the hub or the MSHSL website. Just curious. Not sure those kinds of games do anyone any good.
Remember when Lakeville South got all kinds of grief in this forum a few years ago when they had Kloos scoring goals late in a similar QF blowout?
Nice to know that the Lakeville folks are strong on maintaining local traditions.

Get that cheering voice ready for Edina at the X so you can cheer for "class over crass"
Glad to see the kitties put up an effort last night so you and the little guy (coach of the year) could get your golf clubs ready early.
Ps-it wasn't the 'Poehling brothers' who scored in the 3rd period, it was Ryan Poehling who scored 2 goals on the 1 shift he had that period. Nick and Jack (and Ryan) barely played half way through 2nd on.
Maybe your kitties could have at least got to a section SF in game in 1AA?

3rd Period Scoring (from the hub, and note that I was upfront about the trustworthiness of their stats, so blame them buddy)
1:11 Lakeville North
#7 Nick Poehling (even strength) (#3 Jack Poehling, #4 Ryan Poehling)
4:00 Lakeville North
#12 Chaz Dufon (even strength) (#4 Ryan Poehling, #14 Logan Kappes)
6:08 Lakeville North
#4 Ryan Poehling (even strength) (#22 Luke Seper, #14 Logan Kappes)
10:05 Lakeville North
#9 Taylor Schneider (power play) (#6 Max Johnson, #20 Jack McNeely)
15:35 Lakeville North
#5 Reed Smith (even strength) (#8 Maxwell McGlade)
So why don't you tell us how exactly your reporting of the game squares with the posted score sheet? How could they get things wrong that (a) the refs couldn't tell the difference between #4 and #7, and (b) how #7 scored two goals in the same shift. I know it was running time, but the closest these 3rd period goals come is 2:08 apart.
I'm going ignore your off-topic juvenile jabs at the Wildcats in the hope that I can entice you to stay on-topic.

The goal scored at 4:00 was Ryan Poehling, not Chaz Dufon, the goal at 6:08 was Ryan as well, (same shift as it was running time). Don't recall exactly, but the 1st goal in the 3rd that reads all 3 Poehlings may be a mistake or it was the twins ONLY shift of the 3rd.almostashappy wrote:Sats81 wrote: Hey buddy-

Bottom line is this, its too bad some of these games need to be played. Nothing from Dodge County as they were a well disciplined, hard skating bunch of kids who truly competed their hardest till the end of the game. Hat is off to them for their effort as games like this are never fun to be on the other end of. With that being said, this game could have easily been 20, 25-0. The 3rd line and 4th line (1st line JV) basically went every other shift the entire 3rd period.

So, "basically," Ryan is playing on the third line now? Or does "basically...the entire 3rd period" start at the eight minute mark in your worldSats81 wrote: The goal scored at 4:00 was Ryan Poehling, not Chaz Dufon, the goal at 6:08 was Ryan as well, (same shift as it was running time). He played 1 shift with them (and that was the 4th line) Scored 2 goals in 1 shift while it was running time. Comprehend?almostashappy wrote:So, "basically," Ryan is playing on the third line now? 1. The score was 9-0 after two periods, and the clock wouldn't stop once the puck was dropped to start the 3rd period.
2. The score sheet says that all three Poehlings were on the ice when a goal was scored 1 minute into the 3rd. You're not sure that's right, but if it is, then that was the only shift that Nick and Jack took in the 3rd.
3. Then, "basically" the top two lines sat, while the 3rd and 4th lines closed out the game. Except for one shift, when a D1 Recruit was thrown out there with two of the fourth line forwards. And (presumably early on) in that one shift, that D1 recruit scored. And either the refs couldn't tell the difference between #4 and #12 on the back of the goal scorer's jersey, or the score keeper couldn't read his own chicken scratching when he transcribed the official scoresheet into the hockeyhub ngin system.
4. After scoring the goal that made the score 11-0, coach elects to keep his D1 recruit out on the ice with 2 fourth liners, and 2:08 later, the D1 recruit scores his second goal in that one shift, making the score 12-0.
5. Deciding that with the score 12-0 that he no longer needs to keep any of his D1 recruits on the ice, coach sits all three brothers down for the rest of the game.
So is that your story?

1 shift in the 3rd. 1 shift. If for some odd reason your detailed explanation makes you feel "almostashappy" then I'm happy!almostashappy wrote:Well let's see if I comprehend....Sats81 wrote:He played 1 shift with them (and that was the 4th line) Scored 2 goals in 1 shift while it was running time. Good luck to your adopted team with "class" Edina at the X, hope they can take down that team with "crass", and even better luck on your golf game this summer now that you and the Kitties have a nice 2+ week head start on the rest of us
