Congrats to Lakeville North on their first Class AA State Championship and perfect season. Was hoping Edina would beat them in the finals again or Duluth East could pull it off tonight, but it didn't happen. This team truly earned it. From where they were last year, they matured and looked light years better and more composed this year. Respect to Duluth East on a very hard fought tournament. You guys were so fun to watch and root for. Another great year at The Tourney.
I need ER vs BJ from 2002 State Quarterfinals. PM me.

Great run for both clubs! Hats off to LN going 31-0...wow.east hockey wrote:Great run for East, far exceeding expectations. If you're going to lose, losing in the state championship game to an undefeated team isn't a bad way to lose.
Thanks to the East players and the coaching staff for another fun season!

Highlight of the whole tourney (besides North winning tonight
) was being at the East/Edina game last night, East scores on a breakaway to go up 3-1 and 21,000 fans are on their feet screaming for the Hounds!!! Four Edina coed's sitting in the row in front of us were were so taken in by the moment, they turned around, suggested an activity to us, and stomped off........ A cherished moment!!!!!!!

Yep! Was absolutely lovely sitting right by Edina student section and rubbing it in their faces after the breakaway. Then a total of 4 male students showed up for 3rd place game, but oh they support their seniors (not!)nahc wrote:Highlight of the whole tourney (besides North winning tonight) was being at the East/Edina game last night, East scores on a breakaway to go up 3-1 and 21,000 fans are on their feet screaming for the Hounds!!! Also fun was St Thomas chanting "We're not worried" after East made it 5-3.
The mild disappointment of the loss in the final cannot erase the fact that the Hounds provided, by far, the most excitement of the tournament.....The STA and Edina games were worth the price of admission to the entire four day shootin' match.east hockey wrote:Great run for East, far exceeding expectations. What can I say? Congrats to North. They were the best team from start to finish, and we're never fazed by that all that hype about a perfect season. They delivered in a way few favorites have, and it may be a while before we see that much D-I committed talent on a team again. They were a memorable one, that's for sure.
And this East team? Oh, this East team. I've never seen a run like it, and it'll probably be an awful long time before it happens again. Those four straight upsets are going to be ones for Greyhounds everywhere to cherish. I had to stick around to applaud them when they finally made their way out of the locker rooms and out toward their bus. What a special group. They may have lost the game, but they won in everything else in this Tourney, and they've got a whole state behind them because of it. I couldn't be more proud.

Congrats to the 31-0 Panthers, joining the legendary ranks of the Jags, Pioneers, Hornets, and all others that came before them!
Best wishes to the D1 bound players and others than will be continuing their hockey careers; and all other players, staff, and parents that helped achieve this remarkable accomplishment!

First off, hats off to the hounds. I will admit I didn't think they stood a chance getting through 7AA, let alone sta and Edina. What a tough, scrappy, well coached group. Mike Randolph is one of the great HS coaches of all time. I'm sure they will be back again next yr and even with all the good underclassman rapids and elk river has I think they will struggle to get out of 7AA with east.
Great game played by LN. They did what they had to do to win and despite what most think have to go down as one of the great teams of the modern era. Cpngrats
