I looked it up and you are correct. Looking at ACT scores needed to gain admission the U of M is way out in front of the rest. UMD, UND, Bemidji and Mankato all very similar. St. Cloud is way below the rest. It looks like pretty much anyone can get in there.Bluewhitefan wrote:UMD belongs with the other three in terms of admission statistics - not even close to UM. In fact, UMD admits a higher % of applicants than Mankato.Jeffy95 wrote:You will at the U and UMD. The Admission standards between those two and the other three are night and day as well.

Way back when the U of M had their "General College" that "pretty much anyone" could get into. But they ditched that "school within a school" many years ago, and getting accepted into the U has become much more difficult. In fact our daughter was originally "wait listed" despite having an ACT score of 31 and despite getting immediately accepted into Wisconsin-Madison, Michigan -Ann Arbor and Loyola. She finally did get admitted into the U of M and had a great experience there, majoring in Accounting and Finance at the Carlson School.Jeffy95 wrote:I looked it up and you are correct.
