There was a case one year where I think a kid played football for St. Paul Arlington, and ran track for Roseville or something? (I could be totally wrong on the schools, but I'm sure Arlington was one of them). I think in that kids case he got in some trouble in school and was sort of forced to transfer.

Also I dont know much about track, or football for that matter, but I dont think either of those schools are powerhouses at those sports like Moorhead hockey.

Listen, we all know why this kid transferred to Moorhead, and the fact is he took a kid who had been in the program spot! I just find this absolutely appalling... and sick! Its simply a form of recruiting... and that cant be argued! Where is slappy on this one!

-The Slinger

I have a feeling this may be well publicized and not looked too well upon throughout the state of hockey. "People will know".<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":(">

We had a kid from Princeton that left to play juniors his junior and senior year, and he came back to HS in Princeton both years, iand he came back to graduate. Its not much different situation. SO its not unheard of.
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

But he didn't go play at another HS just for hockey, then come back and graduate with all of his "friends" that he left behind.
Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

Well he still ditched on his team, which after his sophmore year. And we made it to state his senior year. And he woulda done some damage in state. I think we woulda won atleast a game maybe a lot more with him. So its not all that different.
Good Teams Would be Nothin without Good Water.....

Yea, it isn't that different. Fisher left his team for another team because they had a better shot, not to go play juniors. Fisher is playing at the same level as his hometown, he just pretty much said, "You guys suck, I want to play for a good team." Would you accept someone who said that to your school?
Elk River AA State Champions- 2001 Boys & 2004 Girls

We should not condem this young man without knowing all the facts... PLain and simple. The MSHSL will need to investigate.
If in fact he does go back and finish his high school days at the falls and graduates. He will be graduating with his buddies, with whom he grew up playing with. Just because he transferred to another school to play hockey is no reason to get down on him. After all isn't that what kids at private schools do? The difference is the kids at private schools don't leave in the middle of the school year....
________________________________
2002 & 2005 STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

Probably the sickest thing the kid could do. Just goes there to play on a good team, and then goes back. I dont like that one bit. TERRIBLE!

Did Fisher just get up and leave? I don't know that answer, does anybody? I doubt he just left without talking about it with anybody. If hes normal like any other person, a person who leaves there team for somthing better, normally talks about it with their team. If there truly his friends, i dont think they should be pissed at him for trying to put himself out there and get expossed. I'm not saying he did the right thing or not. But just take into consideration, i highly doubt he just left and didnt discuse this with anybody.

The rumors around school are that he left last night after the welcome home ceremony and went back to international falls. He was supposed to leave for Indiana today or tomorrow and supposedly is supposed to come back to Moorhead and graduate here. I don't know if thats accurate or not but that's what the rumors are here.

If you go back to my initial question, it was to find out if anyone had any information on him leaving Moorhead. If you read the thread one person did say that he was planning on going back to Falls to graduate... again, Im not sure what his plan is... it is what I heard... that was all...

If you are a fan of Minnesota hockey, then you must really take a look at this as a problem that will only get worse. These kids play together in premier leagues, and start talking and get kids to move around, and suddenly you have this situation! It needs to get fixed... It simply needs to get fixed!

-The Slinger

lighten up! Oh yeah, lets see... "im going to leave my school to go play at a top notch program... for one reason and one reason only, and thats hockey" Boy something is wrong with that... "these are just kids" exactly! Why should we let them act like free agent adults moving around to go play on a team that can get them the furthest! This is ridiculous! Ive about had it with the whole transfer rule and the MSHL...

-The Slinger

Post by farmerspud »

Here's the scoop on Drew
He's flying to Indiana today to join the Ice. His Indiana coach called Morinville and asked for permission to do this as they have an injured player. Things happened so rapidly that he didn't have time to say good-bye to everyone he would have liked to.
Thanks to all of the people who supported Drew from both IF and Moorhead. They get it! The rest of you want-a-bee losers that don't have anything better to do than bash a kid for following a dream can kiss my tater!!!!
Enjoy your miserable life........
He's going to graduate from Moorhead.

Lee, you can lock this thread now.
