This may have been one of the strangest games I have witnessed in Memorial Arena. Buffalo had zero shots on goal in the first period, none and trailed 2-0. In the 2nd period they get 8 shots on goal and 4 go in. They were still out shot for the period. After a goalie change, Roseau tries to get their composure back and comes out in the 3rd and make it 4-3. Buffalo then is on the penalty kill (way too many silly penalties called both ways, officials must have been used to reffing girl's games) when they dump the puck into the Roseau end from beyond the red line. The crazy puck hits the ice and like a super ball, bounces nearly straight up and under the crossbar to make it 5-3. I have seen many a weird bounces, but nothing like that one. At that point, you could sense that maybe it is Buffalo's night. Give Roseau credit as they battled back and won in OT. Take nothing from Buffalo, but it was a 5-0 or maybe a 5-1 hockey game that they almost won and that is why you play the game!

How long of a power play did Buffalo have in the 2nd?Green and White Fan wrote:You are the same guy who accused me of opening a new account. After reading your posts the last couple of weeks, you have made no indications that you were ever cheering for the Rams!
I believe that is when they got 4 goals, right?
And, shouldn't somebody sit down with Severson and tell him to settle down?
I know he is a big kid, but.....Just sayin'.

Severson took a five minute major plus 10 misconduct with about 3 minutes and change left in the second. Buffalo had roughly 1 goal on three shots to that point. They scored three goals on this power play before the end of the period. At the end of two the scoreboard read 4-2 Buffalo and shots 22-6 Rams(I think Buffalo actually had 7-8 shots). And yes somebody should have sat him down years ago.TTpuckster wrote:How long of a power play did Buffalo have in the 2nd?Green and White Fan wrote:You are the same guy who accused me of opening a new account. Severson went into the game tied for the team lead in penalty minutes with 35. For a defenseman that logs the time he does, not a number out of the ordinary. Not sure what he would need to be settled down for? Lots of players make a bad play at times. I didn't see the hit last night to know if the call was justified. A senior working hard trying to help his team win and had some bad judgement. If it was a continuous thing, the he needs to be talked to but I haven't seen that in his case.
I'm cheering for the Rams . . . . . . . . Taters & Sheep in the final . . . . . . . . like it was for many years . . . . . . . . just the way it's suposta be !Green and White Fan wrote:You are the same guy who accused me of opening a new account. Hey Spudnik I'm also cheering for the Rams. But the Wizard of Aus is on a roll and has his Worriors thinking they'll fry the Tater Tots on Saturday. Your Spuds think they have this game already wonSPUDNUT wrote:I'm cheering for the Rams . . . . . . . . Ok, you were there right. So, you would know a lot better than me.Green and White Fan wrote:Severson went into the game tied for the team lead in penalty minutes with 35. I was just listening on the radio.
I thought I remembered that almost as soon as he came back out on the ice from his 10 minutes, he got another penalty.
But looking back at previous Ram games, you're right, nothing unusual.

You are correct. He was on the ice for maybe 10 seconds and got a minor penalty. Not trying to sound like a homer, but probably the weakest call of too many that were called on both teams last night. It was a one on one and as the player was attempting to go around him he gave him a shove with his left hand. The call was a bit delayed and then he was whistled for holding. Whatever, those things happen.

Hi Syd -you just may be right - you got us early in the season (Of course we got revenge later). Don't think Ammerman well let 'em take anything for granted. Wouldn't mind another exciting O/T - with different winner of course ! But that's just me - didn't think you guys could get past BJI either.Syd Barrett wrote:Hey Spudnik I'm also cheering for the Rams.
