On the ice, a different story. Imagine stacking up adversity for two periods, just to see if the Bears' players could somehow overcome. That's what we saw. Not an impossible win for Blake, but one where they had to claw to keep close on the scoreboard for two periods.
Opening goal just SIX seconds after the drop, a flukey one **EDIT - just watched the clip and the issue was traffic that knocked the goalie down...Blake pled their case to no avail and felt that Aksel Reid was interfered with as the shot arrived** that slipped past the goaltender, and a questionable go/no-goal play that was allowed. Down 2-0 & 3-1 & 4-2, the Bears still trailed 4-3 halfway through the 3rd. Two in quick succession gave them their first lead and they closed it out. A perfect 3rd period.
On the Eden Prairie side, no HS team looks as good to me through the neutral zone. If they clear their end with possession they almost always enter the attacking end with possession. Much more enjoyable to watch than a team that grinds it out.
I see EP as #2 seed in 2AA, which means a path of Tonka (semi) and Prior Lake (final) to make it to state.
In 6AA, Blake & Cretin should be safe with the top 2 seeds. One gets Hopkins and the other faces Holy Angels. Assuming wins, it's awfully murky water to figure out 3-4-5 between Benilde, Edina & Wayzata.

Don’t underestimate the effect on the locker room of bringing in outside talent for a season and expect them to have chemistry. Having talent is one thing, getting all the ingredients to make a good product is quite another!
