Returning to the actual game play for a moment, it dawned on me this morning that, aside from the skill of the players, one of the main reasons that Moorhead vs SCC was such a fun watch was the pace of play. There were very few stretches of extended zone time, with both sides doing a good job of preventing the other from setting up and cycling, and then breaking out cleanly into transition. Not much in the way of dump and chase slogging, just two teams racing up and down the ice and trying to create and capitalize on unsettled situations. Everything just felt less structured and more free-flowing, which doesn’t happen enough in today’s game.

That’s exactly right Stang . A real pleasure to watch.Free-flowing game With a bunch of highly skilled offensive kids on each side who had played together a long time. And neither team played a boring Wayzata or Hill Murray defensive trap style of play to slow things down

I am starting to think that St. Cloud cathedral team could eventually have six Division I kids, three already; and Perbix, Bell, and possibly even Motko might get a hard look at some point

Moorhead might get a couple more too
