What were your thoughts on the game, overall? Did Hastings underperform, do you think they have a shot in 1AA, etc?

I’m a bit surprised by the score. Was expecting more from the Raiders.

friends were spread around the metro tonite, here is feedback :

- reported solid MG 4-1 win over Andover , appear to be peaking at right time , big test against HM next Wednesday

— chaska with well earned 2-1 upset over BSM , avenging a previous Ot loss . Hawks D in 3rd period was notable . Wishert strong in goal , incl big stop of a Stewart breakaway .

- Hornets 3-2 win to sweep the Skips . Fechko with 2 . Skips with a big Sog advantage 37-24 , Clarkowski big part of tonites win

These results further confuse the already complicated section 2 and 6 seeding

I’m a bit surprised by the score. Was expecting more from the Raiders.

Champlin Park lost to Andover and Rodgers by 1. They play a tougher schedule than Hastings does….this didn’t surprise me much.

Hastings in 1AA…. I think Hastings had a better team the last 3-4 years. That said, in 1AA Hastings will be a 2 or 3 seed, so their game against North should tell us a lot about how the Raiders should fare come sections.

Mayo lost to Century tonight. That probably gives Dodge County the #4 seed. That might be big, as Cothern is a top 10 goalie. Having a home game is huge as Mayo could upset South if Cothern is hot.

Mayo may be the biggest underachieving team in the state though. Mayo’s struggle to score is baffling.

Hastings has a shot, their path is much easier if Mayo actually plays to their potential. South playing Mayo in the semifinals has a bigger chance for an upset than South vs Dodge County. I think Dodge County beats Mayo as of now.

I thought they tried to carry the puck into the o-zone too much when they didn't have anything. That led to odd man rushes the other way. Hastings coach took his time out early in the 2nd period after CP went up 2-0 on a 2 on 1. Hastings was the better team in the first period and hit two pipes. After CP took a 3-1 lead they took some dumb penalties. CP was the better team yesterday.

Of course they have a shot, but I wouldn't bet on it.
