Any word on what's going on in Hibbing? According to the April 17 School Board meeting Head Coach resigned, and with what is to be one of their stringer groups in years coming through.

Faribault has named Jake Dickison as the new head hockey coach. He served as an assistant coach for the Falcons last year and was the interim head coach at the end of the season.
Cambridge-Isanti Schools is excited to announce the hiring of Scott Overby as the new Head Boys Hockey Coach. Coach Overby is a 1996 graduate of Cambridge High School.
Another Big Time Class A Job will be filled tomorrow night. Hibbing will be naming previous Asst. Coach Aaron Jamnick as their next Head BHS Coach at their Board Meeting tomorrow night. One of the bigger openings is now off the board it appears.

Matt Niskanen officially hired yesterday with a 5-1 school board vote.
Would be curious why someone voted against.
The meeting is online, and while not coming out and saying it, it appears that one of the Board members didn't like that the interview process went through a Committee that only involved the School Board Chair (is how I would interpret it). She asked multiple times how many people applied (three people applied), were they interviewed (all were interviewed), who was involved (the School Board Chair and a Committee of four others which I couldn't make out), and why was he selected (his strong background, preparedness and solid answers to the questions asked).
- LDC new Co-Head Coaches are Steve Haataja & Brian Moe
- Luverne's Paquette stepped down and the new head coach is Tony Sandbulte who returns as the Boys Head Coach after leading the girls team to 5 straight State Tourneys

Wasn't Haataja up in Warroad for a short spell?
Yes, He was a head coach at Warroad for the 2011-12 season. One of his sons was a heck of football player and took the Warriors to the State Semis, I think ?!?, but the hockey season was not quite the same success as they only mustered a 3 seed in 8A and failed to make the Section Championship. I believe Jay Hardwick took the program over a year later.
