FACMAN

Lighten up.

I remember in HS when kids on our team would go to school, basically stay isolated in the corner of the classroom, wearing their winter coats because they had the chills.

I used to coach HS basketball, and I remember some of my players coming in to school when they probably shouldn't have and sleepwalking through class, going to the nurse's office etc. just to they can play. I rememer one kid looking at me after a whistle, pointing to his mouth, and then rushing off the court to the nearest bathroom, then coming back and playing point guard the rest of the game.

My wife worked for a couple years in a school nurses' office and knows how it works, and knows why the rule at our school was changed.

I also remember my own kid struggling to get up when he had the flu, nearly passing out in the shower, and finally going back to bed and missing a start in goal. It killed him to miss it, but he was just plain too weak to even go to school, much less play hockey.

The girls from EP who were battling the flu showed up for school and did what they had to do to play in that game, then they showed up for the game and took care of business. I give them credit for sucking it up and going out and winning. I'm not on some EP-bashing mission like you seem to think. Someone asked about the situation, and I threw in my two cents worth.

I'm green here so I think I need to say something. Lets all just move ahead. It was a great game the other night. It is Friday and EP has a game Saturday. Will the girls all be ready? who knows? Thats up to the higher person. All I know is the game will be played between Wayzata and EP and I know that both team should be ready if not.......well you know.......Wayzata knows what they did to BSM so its up to EP, are they ready? that we will have to see I guess...

I'm green so You know who I'm pulling for

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... hcorner at: 2/17/06 2:12 pm

Just from a players point of view here... Being sick definatly sucks, I had to battle through two back to back games with the flu this year and I wound up puking after both of them and still went to school the following days. Coming from a player, as bad as you hurt, you go to school and suck it up. If EP players were playing sick that night, I'm positive they fought through it the next day to be on the ice. When you're getting set for a section championship, nothing will keep you home. EP won the game, with or without sick players. Give EP some credit for coming out on top, let the kids play the game, and leave it at that.

From what I heard about the EP players throwing up after the game, it wasn't because they were sick, but because Edina had worked them so hard. But that's just what I heard...
