Sotan put it exactly right on. Looking at pairings and records and all..hibbing MAY not be The 3rd best team In the state..but In the minnesota state boys hockey tournament..THEY GOT 3RD! if i were from ssp i would stay clear of this thread unless your going to compliment them on "upsetting" you guys. SSP..Ya played well, very well against Breck..but you couldnt put it together against hibbing. like IRC said...Hibbing..d@mn good job of representing 7A!

'Dons' , HIBBING does not care about their standings and pairings. It is all over and they have the hardware to prove that at the end of the year they are the 3rd best team in the state tournmament. It is that simple. Who cares if their may be some teams out there allegedly better than them on paper. The fact of the matter is that Hibbing SHINED at the end of the season and DESERVED everything if not more from the tournament. There were non-Hibbing fans at the state tournament who stated that Hibbing should have made it to the finals and I totally agree with this. Hibbing was the Underdog and Underdog came through. I remember something to the fact that you ('Dons') had wrote something negative about Hibbing prior to their entry into the state tournament. It is nice to see that you finally accepted reality and made somewhat of a turnaround to a QUALITY Range team at state. Get used to it because you will be seeing them again next year at the BIG SHOW. CONGRATULATIONS HIBBING!!!! You guys put alot of people in their place and DESERVE every bit of positive attention you are now getting. Continue to CELEBRATE this COMEBACK SEASON!!!

Bucksony why dont you get bent..all i said was that they werent "the next miracle on ice" or that they werent the big bad underdogs everyone was cracking them up to be. i was never saying they shuoldnt be there..or werent good enough. and i have not finally accepted a darn thing.

you misinterpret just about everything anyone says as soon as its critical of hibbing. and then when you respond you say "you were wrong and GO HIBBING!! GOO BLUEJACKETS!" read between the lines you dive..not everyone is critcizing your team.

HIBBING

All I can say 'Dons' is that according to what someone else said, it sounds like you were the one who actually got bent and got allegedly removed from some hotel in St. Paul last week. Your displacement of issues is immature. Now, all I have been doing is simply defending the Hibbing team from critics like you. It is too easy being a critic. Your the one who reads into things and doesn't take things at face value. Yes, you still don't seem to get it through your head that Hibbing was the underdogs all throughout the playoffs and at State. Underdog must be some sort of 'button' for you based on your reactivity. I realize that you may never get it and I fully understand that. You apparently have some things you need to resolve. Get a life and move on. AGAIN, 'CONGRATULATIONS HIBBING' Can't say this enough.

Congrats to Hibbing. Thats what playoff hockey is all about. To the comment that Hibbing is successful because they're playing Class A, I would say they were fortunate to make it to the tournament. They were definitely not the best team in the section but played well at the right time, got some good tending in the final, and beat hermantown despite being outshot 35-17. So they deserve the credit. They played with alot of heart. Last year they made it to state, had a good team, but most felt IFalls had the better team but they managed to win. THats what playoffs are about.

On the AA comment, up in section 7 I did not see much difference this year between AA and A. There were A teams that beat AA teams. East, who won the section and went to state, was beat by Superior this year. Duluth Marshall beat Superior and CLoquet, etc. SO lets give Hibbing the credit. Good job guys.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

HIBBING!!

'icedude', well stated. I agree that Hibbing had some Irish Luck come their way but as you said, they played with alot of heart. The regular season does not mean that much and especially if your one of the teams that peaks during the playoffs. Thanks for acknowledging and giving Hibbing the deserved credit.

Hibbing was underrated..NOT the big underdogs everyone wants to claim them to be. being underrated doesnt neccesarily constitute being an underdog. Yes that was a really stupid thing to say they didnt belong..i almost would have to hear it with my own ears to believe it. 'bucksony' seems to think im not accepting that they won the section..or i dont even know wat he is thinkin, but i never knocked them.or said that they didnt belong down there.

And Yes i did get booted out of my hotel last week. Had i not been evicted..i would have felt like i didnt do state hockey right. get a grasp on what the tournament is about.

HIBBING!!

Post by bucksony »

I have talked with several others and they concur that this writer 'Dons' continues to be hypersensitive to the word underdog. He must be too young or something to really appreciate the old time 'Underdog' cartoon. Again, for the record, there have been numerous sports writers, dedicated fans, opposing teams, and others who themselves initiated using this word underdog with Hibbing. This is certainly not a word that I came up with. Yes, I agree with the fact that Hibbing was totally underrated as compared to their raw talent and ability. It might be a possibility that you still have some resentments or something (still licking your wounds) with the Hibbing and Eveleth game during the playoffs. In addition, putting words in my mouth only discredits you further and further. This whole thing about underdogs really must tug at something in you. It is just a simple word so don't take it so personally. O'h by the way, getting booted from the hotel speaks loudly for itself and certainly is nothing to be proud/brag about. When I think about this, I really am wasting my time responding to you. I certainly have no intentions of trying to convince you otherwise. Lets move on and dialogue about what this forum is really about. HOCKEY!!
