farmington and richfield faceoff on saturday, it should be interesting considering farminton is 14-1 in the last 15 games yet richfield won earlier in the season vs. them....

Farmington is playing some of the best hockey that any team can play. They're on a roll, and they'll run into one of the best goaltenders in the state in Richards or Richfield. This should be a good matchup of some of the flashiest Class A offense in Ripley & Johnson of Farmington against some of the best D & G of Richfield. Should be a great game if both teams bring their top game. This game is played at 3PM on Sat @ Aldrich.

The scorers beat the goaltenders today in a Classic Sub vs. Missota Semi round.

Game 1 featured an OT matchup in which New Prague rallied from a 3-2 deficit entering the 3rd period to win 4-3 in OT. 2nd All-Time leading scorer in Girls HS Hockey history - Jenna Kilpatrick - scored the last 3 NP goals including 2 on the PP and the GWG in OT. Senior Goalie Mel Gerten stopped 40 of 44 shots including 19 of 20 in the 3rd/OT while NP's Culshaw stopped 28 of 31 in the game.

Game 2 I did not see, but from the boxscore I see it was 3-0 Farmington over Richfield. Appears that Ripley netted the Hat Trick in this one while McNamara stopped all 19 shots for the shutout.

An all-Missota final has NP vs. Farmington rematch (3rd time this season) on Friday @ Aldrich @ 7:30PM

If your 2A season's going to end, you could do a lot worse than an OT loss to New Prague & Jenna Kilpatrick. Any disappointment wouldn't be for lack of effort, I'd suppose.

Hey you! Yeah you.... If you're from the East/North metro, this is a great chance to see two good Class A teams and two Ms Hockey (top 10) finalists, probably for the last time. New Prague vs Farmington at Aldrich, tonight at 7:30pm. What better do you have to do? (Roseville and Stillwater don't play until tomorrow night)

First girls "Section" level game I have been 2
My daughter is a young pup..but i've been to many regular season games not any Farm or NP games though.

Was a great game, exciting and well played.

I had heard a lot about #8 from Farm. and while she did get a couple goals, I was more impressed by #10 & #7 from NP as far as overall skill.

#12 on D for Farmington was great as well as the goalie for Farmington, I thought these two players were the difference. They kept NP from taking the win. trade these 2 to NP for the night and it would have been a NP blowout.

FWIW I saw this game too, but was talking most of the time so I might have missed some stuff. My belief is that NP #7 - Kilpatrick F, #10 - Ambroz F, & #17 (D) are all very strong players. Farm #5 - Ripley (F), #8 - Johnson (F), and McNamara (G) played well too (not surprisingly).

I should also mention #12 (D) from Farmington as Hon Men for her play as cited by others, but also #12 (D) from NP too.

I'm looking on venue feedback re Sect 2A tourney... How do people feel about Aldrich and the atmosphere, etc.? I thought it was pretty good considering that this was a Class A final for two teams far outside their natural geographic area, plenty of room for the bands - but not yet too empty, seperate seating sections for Home/Away teams, etc.

For St. Paul guys growing up, you know you reached the big-time when you play in Aldrich or the Coliseum. I thought Aldrich was the perfect size for this game--any smaller and it would have been too crowded. And like you say it was a long way to travel for the teams playing--if teams closer to the city were playing I expect it would have been more crowded.
I was very impressed with the outstanding speed of Farmington's #5 Rachel Ripley and NP's #17 Breanne Hrabe--both are juniors.
