Well I had high hopes but once the US didnt score on the PP in OT I figured they were toast. I hate being right in the case!! Ugh
The hockey Gods must be from Canada cuz the US outplayed them today and came up short.
Oh well I am practically Canadian anyway so way to go Canada! One helluva game either way you look at it. Now hopefully the USA can come home with some jewelry around their necks to save face.

If the US would have won you wouldn't have said this. It sounds like sour grapes to me. If you want the Tournament Format to change get on the IIHF comitee. Propose a change.Really a shame that a game like this has to be decided in a shootout. I can understand regular season NHL or USHL, but a tournament style shootout is garbage. Let them play a 2nd OT

You're right, if the U.S would have won I probably would not have even thought about it. But even if it were a game between Slovakia and Germany, I still would say that taking a playoff-type game to a shootout is just not the right way to end a game.Lundy wrote:If the US would have won you wouldn't have said this. This should be on ESPN, what are they showing instead, duck racing?
And a shootout?? Isn't that something they do in soccer? I can say I enjoyed the World Cup this last summer without conundrum but it's galling to me that they settle a world championship with a shootout. I've always liked the fact that hockey games are decided by sudden death overtime (soccer does have some OT, but it's not sudden death...), most of the greatest games have been settled in overtime.
