good win for hibbing tonight.. marchuk with a huge game in nets for the jackets.. he might have been the difference in this game. no fights but a couple big hits..the refs could have been a little better both ways but thats how it goes.. hopefully hibbing can carry some momentum into this weekend!

There were no fights in this game, just pushing and shoving in front of the net to clear players away from the tender - pretty normal activity.

Final shots were 22-19 in favor of Denfeld. The Hunters are going to have to start converting on their many big opportunities if they are to win the big games. At 13-4 they have lost to 4 ranked teams - 2 in AA and 2 in A. They need to get something going if they want momentum going into the playoffs because it's not getting any easier from here. Hibbing is a hard nose hockey team, they got pretty chippy out there tonight but they definitely have a good chance to find their way to the X come the postseason.

i agree.. denfeld had many opportunities but they just couldn't get it done. their goalie also played a great game i thought. hibbing used its depth to its advantage and got scoring from more than the first line. it was a good team effort and once they stopped worrying about davis they got things goin.

Wow. Sounds like the old days of Iron Range vs Twin Ports hockey. I like it. Sure wish Denfeld could have pulled that off, sounds like both teams were pretty evenly matched with Denfeld making the mistake of not capitalizing on the PP's. Congrats to Hibbing though. Sounds like they've earned their ranking. But it also shows to the doubters that Denfeld is for real this year.

Anyone else seen him? Is he really that good? Does he have the potential for D1?

If I remember right, there was a Kolquist goaltending at Duluth East some years back (although the name Kolquist has got to be among the most common names in Duluth). Anyone know if they were related?
