Final Park 5 Low 4.
Warroad and EGF in the Finals and we all know who wins that one
I believe every year PR is the #2 seed its the weakest in history of 8A. If you skirt wearers opted up to where you should be you'd have nothing to complain about. Quit the rock throwing and look at yourselves, Warroad.
We only need to worry about PR being relevant every 10 years or so. It will be interesting to see how they handle the giant bullseye on their backs. LOW, is always a tough team to beat. This should be a great quarterfinal game as well as TRF V Bemidji.

So, with the exception of 1 year, TRF has been irrelevant for 30 years?

If you consider a top four seed and a threat every year irrelevant, then you are correct.

If they were a threat every year they would have certainly won more than 1 title. PR has been top 4 many times since they joined this Section. Certainly you can't use the same criteria for both schools?

Quick, name all the teams that have won the section title in the past 10 years that aren't named Warroad, EGF, or TRF. I am done arguing semantics with you and Sioux. It is like trying to sell a pair of shoes to a man with one leg.

So 1 out of 60 makes them relevant...You are brilliant.

A blind squirrel could come out of this Section 1 out of 60 times..

9 State Tourney Appearences 2 Championships.

That puts them 14th overall in the state for Tourney appearences. I would call that a solid hockey program. I looked for all of PR appearences but found none.

I'm sure they have valid excuses...

I'm sure 1 of the Pirates slipped a bottle of whiskey into Christianson's waterbottle...either that or 10 of their best players didn't play...

Not sure about Hallock and PR though, but after tonights loss i could see it go this way. Those of you that are still hoping for a 3 or higher seed for PR need to come to grips with the losses you had...like i said before, be very happy with a 5 seed at this point.
tough day at the office for SB 24. dont worry though, your boys Elliott and flin flon had trouble too.

OVERVIEW
Going into the meeting, I think you had 4 teams jockeying for the 2 and 3 holes. The way the section shook out this year, if you could have landed one of the top three seeds you were going to get a pretty winable game in the quarters. No disrespect to Hallock, Crox, and LOW, but a fact is a fact, they aren't as deep as the upper tier squads. The 6-8 seeds can only win by defending, as they can't outscore the top tier teams in a shootout. Defending to win is harder now than ever. The game is 6 minutes longer than it used to be and the Olympic size sheet is hard to patrol for 51 minutes with 8-9 players.

MY TAKE
EGF - was the big winner today, I would like their draw if I were them.

PR - was rewarded for a season and I'm solid with that, the test will come in the semis vs. EGF

Bemidji - may need to play more 8A's in the future if they have plans of sticking around. They were never in the discussions for a top three when in fact maybe they should have been. A 6-2 win over Hallock and a 4-3 win over PR would have been more beneficial than their W's over FF and Greenway this year. Also, they may want to set up a future home and home with EGF.

TRF - tough draw, they'll need to take down Bemidji, Warroad, and EGF.

WAR - must be saying, "we are the #1 and we have Crookston, you've got to be kidding me"

Seeds 6-11 - YES: It Can Happen

As always, great stuff Shanty... :D

I think Bemidji needs a home-n-home with PR also...

I would agree with you Shanty. I would very very happy if I was EGF they by far have the easiest road to the finals. Park's chances at a section 8a title is %0.00 not gonna happen.
