Little Falls has the most freshmen playing varsity this season, that I can tell, and here are their top 13 scorers:

G-A-Pts. - Grade
Joey Hanowski 11 5 16 - Sophomore
Luke Majerle 3 12 15 - Frosh
Ben Newman 7 6 13 - Frosh
Adam Dougherty 4 5 9 - Junior
Matt Stumpf 1 8 9 - Frosh
Hunter Hanowski 2 7 9 - Junior
Tommy Martin 4 4 8 - Senior
Austin Bjorge 5 2 7 - Frosh
Spencer Fenske 3 3 6 - Frosh
Michael Holthaus 3 2 5 - Sophomore
Mike Anez 1 3 4 - Sophomore

Just a few Tuesday games to report.

Providence Academy downed St. Paul Saints 8-0 with Ryan Tapani picking up a single assist. Frosh goalie Jon Strand picked up the WIN and SHUTOUT, making 11 saves. (Only 11 SOG faced? How did you stay awake back there, Jon?)

Benilde-SM over St. Louis Park 6-0.
Grant Besse 1g
Dan Labosky 1g

Lance Carney picking up a single assist in White Bear Lake's 6-5 win over Forest Lake.

Little Falls, no bantam team?

I've seen a few other teams that must not have bantam hockey in town because the roster, sometimes split between varsity and JV, is loaded with 8th and 9th graders.

They have a Bantam B team, but its is a team of only 11 players. I have watched some of their games this season. They also should be a great help in the future of Varsity hockey in Little Falls the upcoming seasons.

Just an FYI, Adam Dougherty is out with a very serious concussion, apparently his 3rd this season????? And Tommy Martin has quit the team.

A few frosh scoring highlights thus far for Thursday night games:

Parker Reno picks up 2 goals as Edina downs Robb. Armstrong 8-0. Lou Nanne also scored a goal; now there is a familiar name, eh?

Matt Stumpf and Spencer Fenske get a goal each in Little Falls' 3-2 loss to St. Cloud Apollo.

Other than an odd assist here and there, not much else to report, so far.

In a late-reporting Thursday game, Kyle Osterberg picked up 1g 3a as Lakeville South downed Bloomington Kennedy 15-0. That game put Osterberg back at the top of the Frosh Scoring Chart.

Top in each category emboldened

43 points
Kyle Osterberg, Lakeville South 20-13-30 (43%)
42 points
Grant Besse, Benilde-SM 21-25-17 (37%)

Hudson Fasching, Apple Valley 20-16-11 (38%)

BTW, Lakeville South may not be ranked, but someone just posted the Strength-of-Schedule for schools, and L. South was #2, just behind Edina for having the toughest schedule.

Call this the Adam Johnson post.

Johnson is a freshman defenseman for Hibbing, and he just put up an 8-point game (4g 4a) in Hibbing's 11-2 win over Eveleth.

Looking at the PrepHockeyNorth website, I also found that MnHockeyHub was missing 2 points for young Mr. Johnson.

So, his corrected numbers: 23 points from 9 goals and 14 assists gets him a GIGANTIC leap up the scoreboard from the 13-point level to 23 points. This is the highest-scoring frosh defenseman in the state, I do believe.

Maybe, in 2013!

Well, the regular season is over. Kyle Osterberg put in a 4g 2a effort in Lakeville South's final game (7-3 win over Eastview) to finish the season with 57 points. He also led all frosh with 39 assists, and led in the category Factored into % of team goals, beating out Andrew Scofield with that final game performance. I will update as other Saturday games get posted.
