Would we be able to use Twins in the field and Rangers at the plate?

Stars up 3-0 in the second round.

Gopher Football in new threads.

Shut off my alarm and let me lie, the Dream continues.

It would be a dream to have your kid wearing Joe Mauers old tools of ignorance, and slamming another dinger to help win the game....

Could it be that we really do have it great.

All the bitterness put forth in the original Nightmare thread about the way things were going seems to be uncalled for.

Maybe the bored admins were right to ban that thread.

Now we have all this sarcasm started in the Dream thread and I am feeling rather sheepish about the attitude we have cultivated here.

Lets look at it a different way.

1. The Vikings have artfully put together a contending team

2. The Twins are only 2.5 back with a team that has very little experience and loads of potential.

3. The Gopher footballers are looking good in their new uniforms and have a great future with their new head coach

4. Tubby

5. The Wolves are headed straight up from here

6. Don Lucia has had some great recruits

7. The Wild won their division

With all that and da kid playin great.............well , lets just put it this way:

In the movie Field of Dreams, the character playing Costner's dad asked the question "Is this heaven?" The answer was "no this is Iowa"

If he asked the question here, the answer would be " no, Its Like a Dream Come True"

It's facinating what we now know about our own minds, recent research has unearthed four stages of sleep that the human brain will repeatedly cycle through during the night.

Stage 1: light sleep, little dreaming
Stage 2: light sleep, little dreaming
Stage 3: deeper sleep, dreaming occurs
Stage 4: deepest sleep, memorable dreaming occurs

A human will go in and out of REM sleep during stages 3 and 4. During REM sleep; exploding bombs can not be heard, screaming babys' cries fall upon deaf ears, and thieves looting your garage will score big, during REM it is simply you and all that is good in the world.

Go ahead, pinch me. I'm not going to wake up anyhow. Gotta go, Blackburn, perfect through 7, has just finished his warmup tosses.

How's this for a dream:

Our Hockey team won the second round of their playoffs last night.
Our Basketball team won their playoff series last night.
Our Baseball team beat the Yankees last night.

If we lived in the beautiful city of Detriot, we could be saying it's like a dream come true...but compared to living in Detroit, maybe just living in Minnesota is actually a dream come true. :!:

How's that for some optimism PB :?:

My weekend?

Well, I'll be spending my MAY 3rd outside in the SNOW, golfing in a tournament whose proceeds benefit CRETIN-DERHAM HALL.

It's like a nightmare.

I like the resourcefulness of our posters.

Pretending we live some where else is a fine approach and very in line with our new attitude.

But lets look on the bright side.

Instead of being outside , drinking a beer and having a cigar while pretending to do yardwork, we can hang inside and watch it snow.

In Govs situation, he can be nice and bundled up instead of hot and sweaty and burning his face from the sun.

The warm weather will come. YES: It Can Happen

The Twins will win this weekend inside the nice cozy dome.

I'll tell yah, its all so....well, It's Like a Dream Come True

I tuned into Stars/Sharks game last night in order to: 1) watch game 6 and 2) see my Stars into the conference finals. I failed on both accounts as they actually decided to play games 6 & 7 and I never saw the end. The dream did come into focus around 2am as Morrow finished off San Jose. Dallas scored a rare 5-2 series victory thanks in part to their push in game #6.

The Twins are fanning the flames of past glory by going on a little pre-summer tear.

What a dream come true with at least another week of hockey and baseball together.

I can see clearly now the rain is gone, I can see all obstacles in my way, gone are the dark clouds that had me down......

I hated that song but it does accurately describe the current situation.

The Twins are in first.

The Vikings are building a dynasty.

The weather is great.. I can watch a baseball game tonight without a winter coat on.

And its gonna be a bright,..... bright sun shiney day...

Or in Minnhock terminology.....It's Like a Dream Come True

Dreamer, you know you are a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
I said dreamer, you're nothing but a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
I said "Far out, - What a day, a year, a laugh it is!"
You know, - Well you know you had it comin' to you,
Now there's not a lot I can do

Dreamer, you stupid little dreamer;
So now you put your head in your hands, oh no!
I said "Far out, - What a day, a year, a laugh it is!"
You know, - Well you know you had it comin' to you,
Now there's not a lot I can do.

Well work it out someday

If I could see something
You can see anything you want boy
If I could be someone-
You can be anyone, celebrate boy.
If I could do something-
Well you can do something,
If I could do anything-
Well can you do something out of this world? (YES, it can happen)

Take a dream on a Sunday
Take a life, take a holiday
Take a lie, take a dreamer
dream, dream, dream, dream, dream along...

Dreamer, you know you are a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
I said dreamer, you're nothing but a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
OH NO!

But as Aerosmith said

Dream on........
Dream on........

Dream until your dreams come true...........

Well TT, there are so many songs that refer to or are about Dreams and many can be found in earlier pages of this very thread.

Ancient history records and reveals that Dreams have been a focus of mankind since Joseph interpreted Pharoah's Dream along time ago in Egypt.
,
Yup, writings, songs, poems and now, fittingly, a Minnhock thread based on Dreams.

Say, I wonder how many of the more mature posters will remeber these guys who were very much in tune, if you will, with the theme of this thread.

I admit it.

I did "The Freddie".

I would never use Just for Men................

I use Preference by L'Oreal.

Because I'm worth it.

For me and the six other people in the U.S. who watched game four last night, it was quite a dream........ or nightmare I guess. What a dream for me though. The NHL did everything they could to ensure that NBC's cash register would ring for game #5 on Saturday. It was great, a barage of Wings going to the box to feel shame and for no apparent reason they disallowed the Wings first goal. Keep it up, get those Stars back into this one.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......................

Oh I almost forgot, by the time I awake from my slumber later this afternoon the Twins will hopefully be back to .500 again.

The spring dream continues.

Well ... it's Friday before a long weekend, this place is clearing out faster then the Metrodome in the 6th inning of a Twins game :P

But it's beautiful weather for the weekend and as the title goes....
"It's Like a Dream Come True"

Hope all you posters enjoy a save and relaxing holiday, and don't forget to say a prayer, or tip your hat, or whatever it is you do  to acknowledge this holiday is to commemorate U.S. service men/women who have died in military service to their country.
