Imagine if Al MacInnis used a composite hockey stick...

Will the shots continue to get harder into the future?PuckU126 wrote:105+ is a BOMBstarmvp wrote:Explains the wild....... True, but how much better? There has to be a point where the shots just can't get any harder....PuckU126 wrote:Possible, technology can only get better.starmvp wrote:Will the shots continue to get harder into the future?PuckU126 wrote: 105+ is a BOMB

Chara is 6'9"/255, and knows how to use the big arc to generate additional speed/torque.PuckU126 wrote:Possible, technology can only get better.starmvp wrote:Will the shots continue to get harder into the future?PuckU126 wrote: 105+ is a BOMB

I dunno if Al could have got there, even with the latest composite.
I can totally see where you are coming from with Chara's size; however, Al was clocked at 109 one time... with a wood stick...crickett75 wrote:Chara is 6'9"/255, and knows how to use the big arc to generate additional speed/torque.PuckU126 wrote:Possible, technology can only get better.starmvp wrote:Will the shots continue to get harder into the future?

The technology will peak at one point; it almost has already. Maybe there is another new compound material out there that will change the game?

I don't know how accurate the 109 shot was. But anyway, we'll have to wait and see what kind of materials are allowedPuckU126 wrote:I can totally see where you are coming from with Chara's size; however, Al was clocked at 109 one time... with a wood stick...crickett75 wrote:Chara is 6'9"/255, and knows how to use the big arc to generate additional speed/torque.PuckU126 wrote: Possible, technology can only get better.

I think James Rodney Richard was clocked at 110 mph with the same gun...PuckU126 wrote:I can totally see where you are coming from with Chara's size; however, Al was clocked at 109 one time... with a wood stick...crickett75 wrote:Chara is 6'9"/255, and knows how to use the big arc to generate additional speed/torque.PuckU126 wrote: Possible, technology can only get better.

Valid point. Maybe the NHL will have to disallow certain equipment like the PGA..crickett75 wrote:Bill Gates once said "640K of memory should be enough for anybody".PuckU126 wrote:

Technology will never "peak". What they allow on the other hand...

Exactly, it's all about what they allow. I'm sure a stick could be a made today that would completely change the game. But, the NHL and the hockey world in general DO NOT want that.crickett75 wrote:Bill Gates once said "640K of memory should be enough for anybody".PuckU126 wrote:
