Will the shots continue to get harder into the future?

True, but how much better? There has to be a point where the shots just can't get any harder....

Chara is 6'9"/255, and knows how to use the big arc to generate additional speed/torque.

I dunno if Al could have got there, even with the latest composite.

I can totally see where you are coming from with Chara's size; however, Al was clocked at 109 one time... with a wood stick...

The technology will peak at one point; it almost has already. Maybe there is another new compound material out there that will change the game?

I don't know how accurate the 109 shot was. But anyway, we'll have to wait and see what kind of materials are allowed

I think James Rodney Richard was clocked at 110 mph with the same gun...

Bill Gates once said "640K of memory should be enough for anybody".

Technology will never "peak". What they allow on the other hand...

Valid point. Maybe the NHL will have to disallow certain equipment like the PGA..

The sticks will continue to get better, but they will remain fair. I don't know about goaltender pads though. Will we see more restrictions in the future?

Exactly, it's all about what they allow. I'm sure a stick could be a made today that would completely change the game. But, the NHL and the hockey world in general DO NOT want that.
