Some things I have never seen. Former Grand Rapids player Kersten Calder gets tossed for a major checking from behind that sent Jessi Stumo to the hospital.
I was wondering how Jessi Stumo is doing, I would hope she is alright.

I was also glad to read that Jessi is doing great. Best wishes for her.
I'd just like to add that it was great competition for Alex this last weekend. It was fun for the girls and for their fans to watch them play GRG. I personally thought GRG outplayed them, shooting 2 for 1, and GRG had some great scoring opportunities. The Alexandria goalie made some incredible saves. The Alex girls left the ice happy. They were of course disappointed in not winning, but they had fun playing. Same thing for their game against Hibbing/Chisholm, but turned around. Alex outplayed them, shooting 2 for 1 and I thought their goalie made some great saves. I was impressed with her as well. To walk away from 1 - 0 games, one of them in overtime, was great entertainment for me. Thanks to GRG for hosting!

I will take the Lightning in this one. They look good early in the seasson, and they will only improve. Things get a little tougher without Jessi Stumo, however. I still like the Lightning:
Lightning 3
Cloquet 2

boblee, predicting what you were going to predict was a lot easier than predicting the outcome of the game!boblee wrote:I will take the Lightning in this one. Just for fun I'll go with the mild upset, 3-2 Cloquet, with goals by Nos. 7, 12 and 13.

Cloquet takes an early 2-0 lead on turnovers in front of the net.
Molly Arola scores short handed to cut the deficit to 1.

Molly Arola scores her second of the night, and 4th in the last game and a half. This one on the PP. Game is tied at 2 in the second.

Cloquet went up 3-2 with a PPG.
Molly Illikainen ties it at 3 for GRG.
It's Molly night in Cloquet.

GRG vs CEC
Great game, glad i had the chance to attend. From the drop of the puck CEC was on a mission to take Erickson out of the game. #7 Montana(sorry for not knowing her last name
) for CEC was on the ice nearly everytime Erickson was out there. It was fun watching a chess match like that at a girls high school game. When Arola scored her second goal on the PP i noticed two CEC girls within 5 feet of Erickson, allowing a two on one for GRG.
Although it went to overtime it appeared GRG played better and had faster team speed overall. Arola played great, very impressive. Montana was also great for CEC.

Arola is plain dangerous. If they keep letting her shoot she will score 25-30 goals.

My first bold prediction of the season. GRG gets revenge over BSM.
GRG 3
BSM 2
This should be a fabulous game. I wouldn't be surprised if it went into OT. I also wouldn't be surprised if either team won. Good luck to both teams. I wish I could attend.
